Description

Proving that speed and resolution can indeed coexist, the Nikon D850 Digital Camera is a multimedia DSLR that brings together robust stills capabilities along with apt movie and time-lapse recording. Revolving around a newly designed 45.7MP BSI CMOS sensor and proven EXPEED 5 image processor, the D850 is clearly distinguished by its high resolution for recording detailed imagery. Working in conjunction with the sensor is the EXPEED 5 image processor, which together afford a 7 fps continuous shooting rate for up to 51 consecutive frames, an expandable sensitivity range from ISO 32 to 102400, and 4K UHD video recording using either a DX crop or the entire area of the full- frame sensor. An 8K time-lapse recording mode is also available, as well as additional specialized recording modes. Benefitting the imaging capabilities is an advanced Multi-CAM 20K 153-point AF system, which debuted with the flagship D5 and offers 99 cross-type sensors for refined focusing accuracy in a variety of lighting conditions. Checking off a number of boxes for multimedia image-makers, the D850 positions itself as not only a high- resolution DSLR but also as a camera for speed, movies, and low-light shooting needs. Balancing the versatile imaging features, the D850 is also equally refined in its physical design. A large optical pentaprism offering a wide field of view and 0.75x magnification affords photographers a bright, clear, and realistic view for critical shooting needs. Conversely, a 3.2" 2.36m-dot LCD touchscreen is also available for live view shooting, playback, and menu navigation, and features a tilting design to suit working from high and low angles. A weather-sealed design is also employed, to suit working in a variety of environmental conditions. Additionally, built-in SnapBridge allows for wireless sharing of low-resolution imagery and remote live view use on a linked mobile device.

  • able to zoom in in post with awesome detail
Color: Black
the 45 megapixels in full frame allow you to crop shots with amazing detail. I have yet to play with the video but expect that to be remarkable as well. my old Nikon glass works well with this camera, but i expect i will purchase some full frame rated lenses in the near future. This camera is definitely smarter than i am which means i will need to send more time learning it initially, but that's not a bad thing (I am an intermediate shooter) The focusing on this model is crisp and FAST! i have been waiting a long time for a full frame camera and with the awesome video capabilities the D850 has, this is the one... ... show more

  • Almost Perfect!
Color: Black
Almost. Why? The AF for video is terrible unless one is shooting static subjects. If you want to do a lot of video shooting, this is not the camera for that. It seems a afterthought for Nikon to include a video mode. The quality is very good; but the AF leaves a lot to be desired. That aside; as a photo capture machine, the D850 is incredible; rivaling 2.25" format. The array of options on this camera were made for photographers; too many to mention. At 45MP, one had best be using top level glass as every imperfection of poor lenses will become quite apparent. In AF mode it handles high speed action quite well; perhaps not as fast as the D5, though certainly not a issue in sports photography and it's not $5,000. I shoot on spec professionally and was thrilled when I upgraded to the D 850 w/o breaking the bank. Be careful if you purchase a D 850. Some are selling this camera at $2,000. This is NOT a NIKON authorized seller at this price; so Nikon will NOT repair the camera if there is a problem; nor will the camera carry Nikon's full warranty. (Grey Market) cameras are ok, but understand the differences before trying to save 500 bucks. Lastly; I also shoot astro-photography. This camera does not have the IR filter. For AP it's a awesome choice. If you need top quality images; ones you may want to enlarge to poster size, this is the choice. If you're doing point & shoot and just use program mode; you've wasted money. While amateur photogs can use this camera, it was primarily intended for serious shooters. ... show more
