  • Must buy box set for the extra features alone.
Arrived on time in good condition. As for the box set, if you're a fan of the series the extra features are worth the price alone. Even the actual movies have behind the scenes extras not listed on box cover. Image/ sound quality is good for what it is, 5.1 audio 1080p video. Some artifacts visible but that's expected. Great box set. ... show more

  • Couldn't be happier
This review is for the 5-disc UK Blu-ray set of "Nightmares" 1-7. The set fits all seven movies onto four discs (Disc 5 being bonus materials), with only the original film getting its own disc. The doubling-up doesn't appreciably affect the quality of the presentations; each film looks and sounds very good to outstanding. Part 3 has a sometimes murky look with a generally very thick layer of grain, but to the best of my recollection, it's always looked that way, perhaps attributable to some combination of the film stock used, the way the film was lit, and the extensive use of ambitious-for-the-time process shots that may have degraded elements of the image from inception. In any case, I'm thrilled to trade out that nifty-but-bulky DVD box set for a set with superior presentations all around that takes up a fraction of the shelf space. ... show more

  • First, Third, and Seventh are good
Great ride down memory lane for fans of the franchise. Though most of the movies are pretty horrendous for their own reasons, the first, third, and “new nightmare” certainly have staying power as standalone films. Interestingly, the sixth may be its own flavor of bad, but it breaks a lot of horror tropes and is definitely the funniest of the series. ... show more

  • Region 2 review from a USA user
This review is based on the UK region 2 version of this set being used in the united states. Amazon is selling two versions of this set on their site, the north american and uk version, the uk version has those blue and orange 18 labels on the front. The discs also have "For rental or resale" printed on them. Strange. All the bluray movies work in a standard bluray player, which I was sure would be the case when I bought it. The dvd bonus features disc is Region 2, which is only playable on Region 2 dvd players and wont work in a standard Region 1 north american dvd/bluray player. I'm able to circumvent this using a PC, so I watched the features on my pc. ... show more

  • Loved it
The original, 3,4 and 6 are the best. Don't recommend 2 or 5 too much. I enjoy that they bring Heather Lampford back for the final nightmare and my all time favorite scene is comedically long armed Freddy, but there is alot more good ones. Thanks Rob E. !
