For starters this screen is amazing! 3", very bright even in daylight. This works great as a camera before we even reach the night vision capabilities. The daytime modes all function with amazing clarity. The folks that design these have taken great care to incorporate features that I find convenient and logical -like the multi buttons versus a mono button. Illinois gets cold in the winter and multi buttons are superior when one has gloves on. The power button in the middle suggests ambidexterity was thought of, and I appreciate that, even though I'm not a lefty. I don't quite know the hows and whys of it working but I do believe this 42mm aperture is the biggest one yet. Combined with the 850nm Infrared illuminator, the images I have been able to capture thus far have been perfectly adequate. The gate in my photos is 2 large blocks away and across the street. When I was just viewing it, every step of magnification looked great! This night vision set is the Cadillac of NVGs at the moment with integrated compass and rangefinding, I know I read about them in the description but it was a sheer delight to power on the device and get to see where I was pointed and how far away it was. This device included an SD card for images and video, a case, and a USB-C charging cable. I like the 4 color IR modes a lot. I tested these out outside and can see clearly and easily for 100 to 200 meters. The functionality is easy to change the brightness or even use color in the day and I like the ability to take both photos and videos. We have a bag going incase the worst case scenario ever occurs. They work great and my husband loves the cap that swaps it to IR.
