Features

  • The Nightfox Advantage: Join over 75,000 Nightfox customers around the world trusting our helpful UK-based team to deliver the best experience of night vision binoculars and night-vision goggles.
  • Handsfree monocular night vision: Use the head strap with either eye to pair your natural vision with night vision goggles for total awareness. The screen even has a diopter for easier focusing.
  • Upgrade for free: Your Prowl will get better with time, thanks to regular easy-to-install firmware updates, which enhance performance and functionality. We also welcome your suggestions on how to improve the next version.
  • Dual IR LEDs: The Prowl infrared monocular combines 850nm and 940nm. Use 940nm to go undetected, with virtually no red glow and a 300ft range. Use 850nm to see further, up to 430ft. Low detectability and high range make this monocular ideal as hunting night vision kit.
  • Perfect for airsoft: The Prowl night vision goggles record HD 1080p video with sound, onto the included 32GB memory card. Stay ready for airsoft with a tough IR lens and a replaceable cap for the sensor.
  • Tactical helmet: The Prowl is a night vision monocular compatible with night vision goggles military tactical mounting. Use a Wilcox G24 style mount on a military helmet like PVS 14 night vision.
  • See all night: The powerful 3200mAh battery gives 5 hours of constant use. Recharge from a power bank or easily replace the battery. Enable 3x digital zoom to use the Prowl as a night vision scope.
  • Situational awareness: With natural 1x magnification, a wide 54 FOV for peripheral vision and allowing you to keep one eye free, the Prowl is revolutionary as a night vision camera and as night vision goggles.

  • Digital night vision for the masses... in 2024!
The Prowl is as advertised: it's a superb digital night vision device set at an appropriate price with awesome extras! I think that I need to address this first: it is NOT US military analog night vision, and it is not supposed to be. This monocular is a digital night vision device with [some] low latency lag that gets you into the night vision "game" as a complete package. I feel like I can't stress enough that the value of the product combined with the head mount is incredible. The device allows you to see a long distance with some ability to distinguish gradient color patterns. It absolutely relies on additional IR light. The onboard IR light is FANTASTIC and can give the optic the ability to see just past 100 yards. You're not going to be sneaking around on a moonless night without the IR... or on a full moon night without the IR either. But it's not advertised to do that - this won't make you silent, give you muscles, or replace a decade of special operations experience; but it's not advertised to do that either. The lag is noticeable, but easy to manage. I can easily walk around the house, inside and outside, and perform tasks with the monocular with little issue - it's more of a "training" issue as opposed to a device issue. You won't buy this and then write a book about killing Bin Laden, but you will buy it and be very satisfied playing airsoft in the dark. The additional features offered by the device are very welcome. The video recording is nice. The zoom is an unexpected benefit that I use regularly. And I would leave a 5 star review just on the headset that is included... did I mention the headset comes with it!!! I highly recommend this product. I'll be saving up to buy another one to run this "dual-tube" style in the future (which you can absolutely do with a bridge from Nightfox). Hopefully I'll be able to update the review with that info one day! I'm not a "cool-guy," but I've been "cool-guy" adjacent for most of my adult life. I've used helmet mounted PVS14 white phosphor dual tubes, and I've had low-light/no-light training. It's not fair to compare the Prowl to a PVS14 when it comes in at 1/20th the price. I was easily able to tell the difference between a possible coyote and a lost beagle outside the house at 75 yards. I run it on my non-dominant eye. Because of the latency and need to use the IR illuminators, this isn't something that I'd "trust my life to" in a tactical situation. But it's super fun to use in the backyard and for things like airsoft, especially at the price point. Nightfox is offering an awesome product at a great price with what you need out of the box to have fun. Buy this because it's fun; don't buy it because an Alex Garland movie scared you. ... show more

  • Very Cool
I don't own a real pair of NVGs and will probably never be able to afford them or justify the cost if I could afford them. The Nightfox Prowl allows me to see in the dark pretty well. The focusing adjustments are easy to use and intuitive. It is amazing how the eye without this can't see anything but with this on I can literally see into pitch black areas. I am using it with the included head strap and it works well and stays in place. I am able to move in the dark with some confidence. I won't claim to be moving at 100% speed but I'm still able to get around. A couple of downsides to consider. One of my adult sons complained of a headache after using this, having two totally different inputs coming from your eyes can be disorienting. For me personally I just close one eye and only use one at a time. The second isn't a huge issue but the screen is pretty bright even on the lowest setting. After taking the unit off it is crazy how blind the eye is that has been using the Prowl. I own a Nightfox Swift 2 and the Prowl. The Swift 2 allows for the screen brightness to be turned down lower, saving the night vision. I think the Prowl has a sharper image and overall I prefer it to the Swift 2. I would love for this unit to be offered without the digital camera and IR emitters to streamline it and make it lighter. The unit does droop a little when wearing the head strap, it's not a big deal. Overall it is a really cool unit for a fraction of the cost of the tube NVGs. ... show more

  • For $200 the Nightfox Prowl NV monocular blows away anything in its price point.
The Nightfox Prowl met my expectations and then some. It is underpriced while overdelivering on it's capabilities. The unit is very lightweight and when mounted to a helmet doesn't cause any additional strain on your neck. The included headband is easy to use and the included dovetail allows you to attach it to any Wilcox style helmet mount. Anyone looking to dip their toes into the world of night vision would be encouraged to spend the $200 to get started. ... show more

  • Diopter does not work!
I was so excited to get this as their other versions did not have diopter. I wanted to use it without glasses which are just non prescription reading glasses. I couldn't believe that the diopter was useless!. The further you turned it the worse it got. My Sightmarh Wraith 4k diopter works as it should with plenty of additional adjustment. Is the diopter working for anyone else? Is this just defective? Also disappointed that the 1080 screen is magnified making it worse than it is. Absolutely useless and not worth the selling price. ... show more

  • Just don't bump it
Works well, has some good battery life, and can record fairly well. A very solid digital NVG unit that is perfect for Airsoft but has a really MASSIVE problem with shock. It you bump the unit with something solid when its on, like a sight of a rifle or on a doorway the unit will freeze up and become unusable until the device is reset using the button next to the charging slot. This is really difficult in pitch black and if you don't have a white light you're pretty much screwed. ... show more

  • In a class of its own! Love it!!
The media could not be loaded. These digital night vision goggles may not be the real deal, but let me tell you, they are absolutely phenomenal for what they are! The ability to record, zoom, and recharge directly from the unit adds a whole new dimension to the experience. And let's talk about the helmet mounting feature – it's just awesome! The range of IR settings is impressive too, with three covert options and three super bright options (visible to the naked eye). Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase. Even if I had some real night vision goggles like a PVS14, I'd still grab one of these as a backup without hesitation! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an affordable yet high-quality night vision solution. ... show more
