  • Good value
Used it for a bit, the seller is a cool dude. Bad: - The screen inside is a bit bright, if you have natural night vision you'll want to close one eye while you use it as the light will make everything seem dark again - It works as a flashlight, but with IR. The IR light shines (invisibly) and the screen lets you see how it reflects. Better for close-range sight (i.e. a mile or less). Good: - Super easy to use - literal plug and play, except with batteries instead of a plug - Well made - The entire thing is made of hard plastic. Nothing shakes inside and it seems resistant to the outdoors - Eye visor - The visor area has a rubber cover to stop any light from the display from bleeding out. It also provides enough room for those wearing glasses to see with ease - Display - Everything is grayscale, reflective surfaces (slippery puddles, the eyes of animals, etc..) really stand out more than they otherwise would. The contrast is also high enough to ensure that everything is clear and crisp. Overall, great product. ... show more

  • Great value for the money! Work great!!!!!
These are great, value for the money and due exactly what they say they do. These work in light and pitch dark, the IR settings are impressive. It took me a min to get used to the IR settings zoom, focus at different distances but this is straight forward and was natural. In the pitch black woods scanning the higher IR bleach out the image as you scan past closed trees and objects. If you have street lights and bright moon the. Turn the IR down for the situation and increase as needed when you zoom. The focus is short throw and located in a great position. Housing is not too heavy built feels quality. I have a lot of experience with military grade night vision, while this is digital and a bit different it is surprisingly clear and useful. My only complaint about digital is the backlit screen puts off light and kills natural night vision so the eyes have trouble adjusting back and forth. These are a great buy and work amazing for the money. ... show more

  • Good Unit For The Price
Full Night test with both some ambient light and total darkness. Give it excellent around a yard with lots of trees, shrubs, other objects present. The IR reflects off of objects greatly adding to brightness of area. Minimum usable distance is like 30 feet away so you can't point down to see where walking. Would be good in the woods as again lots of trees around to add reflection. Only IR setting 1 or maybe 2 needed for in a yard. Any more is unnecessary - would be too bright. Not so good for long open areas like looking down a long straight road or open field. I think the specs said 100 yards but I don't think so. I'll give the range 200 feet looking down an open road in total darkness with IR on Max. Emphasize it works really well 30-150 feet like around a yard even in total darkness. Day color pic is grainy. No where close to photo quality - but I didn't get for day use. Have regular optical binocs for that. Light plastic body but is sturdy. Still would be scared to drop on a hard surface. Comes with good padded neck strap but no soft carry case. How are you supposed to transport this thing around? Plan on getting a a padded carry case or pack. Simple and easy to use. Giving only 4 Stars for lack of longer night range over open terrain and less than great daytime resolution. Still glad I bought at $99. Great around a typical yard or in the woods. ... show more

  • great performance at a low price
Viewing the screen is a little uncomfortable but not much more than regular binoculars. It is really easy to use: just pop in eight AA batteries (not included), and turn it on. Sharp image, easy to adjust the brightness of the IR source. I was amazed to find something this good at this price. Just realize that you are lighting up the area in front of you with an infrared light source, so everything is pretty much evenly illuminated. On the screen, what you see is pretty much the same as if you had a bright flashlight. You are seeing the infrared light REFLECTED by the objects in view. It is not a thermal camera, which shows the infrared light EMITTED by objects (that's what people generally think of when the term 'night vision' is used). ... show more

  • Holy moly
I was not expecting much for the price however was sucked in by the ad and reviews. I was in market for some tool to view the ravenous deer that routinely came under cover of darkness and ate my wife’s flowers! So I gave these a shot. What a surprise!! I could see the entirety of my 3 acre yard in pitch black. Picture quality is very good. The use of the adjustable IR light enabled easy viewing from dusk to dawn. I am still amazed at the functionality compared to price. No brainer! ... show more

  • Real night vision at a fraction of the cost!
I've never owned a pair of night vision binoculars before but I was blown away by these. You can see everything, crisp and clear, in total darkness. Even at far ranges you can see everything! You can increase the brightness up 7 levels too to enhance the scene. It's not too big or heavy either so it is great for travel. The only con is it eats batteries, and D's at that! I just left it in a box for a few months and it was totally dead when I went to use it again. So, great for SHTF but not so for regular use. ... show more
