I am a total novice when it comes to night vision. Never gave it any thought until I came across these binoculars/goggles. Given my limited knowledge, I have to say I am seriously impressed with this device. I was in total awe the first night I used them. It was sort of creepy, but very amusing. I must have seen about 20 pairs of little eyes looking back at me, it was awesome (they were frogs, who knew). I couldn’t put the goggles down, it was quite interesting searching for critters in the night. I don’t know the first thing about clarity with night vision, but I have to say the imaging was fantastic. There is no shortage of features with these binoculars, they are loaded with extras. I haven’t yet used the video or photos, but I am looking forward to it when I encounter a really interesting subject. The screen is a knockout, I can't get over the size of it. I actually prefer the wide screen over the tiny lenses you find on binoculars. It is so much easier to view and you don’t have to hold them extremely close to your eyes. The menu is very easy to scroll thru and use. I haven’t used the goggles too much during the day, but the few times I have, the imaging is just as nice. I find it easier to search for animals during the night vs. the day. Binoculars work better for daytime viewing at least for me anyway. I love how weighty they are, they are seriously substantial. I get a good grip on them too, very easy to hold. They are solid and strong, all the buttons work nicely. A lanyard & cleaning cloth are provided and you can set the goggles on a tripod (there is a screw hole on the bottom). There is no case! I find the price to be favorable after reviewing the cost of others which can be extremely costly. I’m loving the night mystery they provide, highly recommended! ... show more

Like other reviewers have said these are really digital binoculars with IR night vision and they are surprising good. When I powered it on I was surprised by how good the image quality was, it is extremely clear and detailed. It comes with a little manual that describes the functions and is well written, but honestly the controls are pretty clear and pretty easy to figure out even without the manual. It can zoom anywhere from 1x to 10x both in regular and IR mode so you can really zoom in to things at a distance and even zoomed at 10x the image quality is great. You can capture photos or videos easily by clicking the capture button and comes with a built in 32GB card so you have plenty of storage. I have tried this in both daylight and nighttime mode and it works great for both. At night I turned on the IR and within seconds was spotting deer in the woods that I could not see just by sight, so I am really excited to try this next time I go out hunting in the early morning or later evening, it should be great for helping identify animals that I might normally miss. One thing to keep in mind is that these don't really fit right up against your face like a pair of traditional binoculars, they are apparently more meant to be held up near your face and just look at the screen, which I thought was a little strange and first, but when I started using it was actually just fine. ... show more

I have never had or even used night vision goggles before these. For me, a neophyte with night vision goggles, what is most immediately noticeable is the number of control buttons on top, several multifunctional. There are eight of them plus a smooth functioning recessed focus wheel. They do things like take pictures or video, change from day to starlight to night vision, zoom in and out, etc. My first few hours of use was figuring out the button functions. I still have a long way to go to even remotely feel comfortable about what does what without looking. RANDOM THOUGHTS: The screen quality is good and clear. Jumping from focusing the image from nearby to distance takes a bit of focus wheel turning, more than binoculars. I am used to binos, so focusing an image on a screen a couple inches from my eyes can be daunting. I don't mean this as a negative, just that it is different. The magnification factor is not stated outside its digital zoom control. Compared to binos it seems about six or eight magnification. Just a guess. They work fine through a glass window. Bracing them against the glass added nice stability to a device without image stabilization. In the starlight mode at dawn they not only pierce distances, they add some color to what were deep gray objects. Overall, I find these night vision goggles an amazing eye opener. They do a good job of piercing the darkness. They have however, a steep and interesting learning curve. Worth it though. ... show more

I highly question the advertised picture quality and 3.5x zoom is not super versatile in the field, BUT these are better than expected for the price. I definitely have night scopes that provide a better picture, especially at distance, but these are great casual viewing or glassing at closer distances at night. The controls are easy to learn, but not super intuitive, so make sure you get familiar with them before you go out in the dark for the first time. I think for a budget minded coyote or hog hunter, these are more than adequate for getting out in the field and getting eyes on some critters. Good budget option. ... show more
