Initially pleased with this product, but found after only two hours use the "core" was damaged from exposure to a high heat source. The core, the most expensive component, was damaged, resulting in erroneous images on the viewing screen. The manual did state a simple warning, but did not mention the potential damage could be significant and would not be covered by the warranty. Customer support told me to not point it at a high heat source and not to leave the lens cover open when not using it, presumably with the power on. This information should have appeared in the manual as it would have saved me $250.00! Other products similar to this have circuitry to protect the core, this does not, so beware! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Good unit, removable 18650 battery and usbc charging are great. Has 1/4” thread for mounting. You won’t helmet mount it, lags and randomly pauses when readjusting the thermal ranges.

This is a very impressive little thermal camera. It's very lightweight, compact, and the clarity is outstanding. The only negative thing I could say about the device is the inability to store a micro SD card as this is designed with an internal memory. This is still a 5 star product in my book. Edit: unfortunately, within the first few weeks of owning this thermal camera, it has essentially now become a paperweight. Sadly, one drop to the floor from waist height has damaged this camera and rendered it unusable due to blurred image. This product seems to lack any substantial durability. Have used some high end monoculars that are $3000+ and for me this works well enough for hunting New England. I can see raccoons in trees from 2-300 yards. Deer are easy to spot. I had trouble identifying a coyote vs a deer at 200 yards with brush in between us. I really like the standby feature and would suggest this as a good entry level. Anything with less powerful sensors is a waste of money. Start with this K3 model then move up. I suggest using this in 1x zoom only. You zoom in more and the quality isn’t great. ... show more

It's amazing! I got it for work. And it definitely detects alot more than advertised. I've been looking at airplanes passing by at night. Wish RIX'd make an adapter for helmet mout!
