  • For what it is at its price range.. it is pretty good.
First off I'm a user of a PVS14 Gen 3 so I know a bit about night vision equipment. First off, this is not the standard tubes in a true NGV. What ever they are using they are amplifying some type of camera to get your image on a video screen. In honesty.. they actually did a decent job at it. It would be grainy due to it, but it works. It has 2 IR flashlights in front of it for those dark areas. They do a decent job. What is really BAD BAD BAD is the focus knob. It is stiff, and it is hard to quickly adjust the focus. When aiming from something medium distance to something close.. it is blurry and adjusting the knob is a pain. Sometimes I forget which way to turn the knob to adjust it in the right direction. Honestly I was debating putting the thing to 3 stars just for the focus knob sucking. What you look at is some type of display. On a real PVS 14, if you need glasses for viewing a far away.. you need to wear those glasses or everything will be blurry. However on this, you are basically putting a screen next to your eyes so you must take off your glasses unless your farsighted. They you need your glasses. I suppose since I'm nearsighted this is better for me to take off my glasses vs putting one on. I did see something interesting.. during low light, I was looking out the window and with my normal eyes, it would be hard to tell the grass is green, but with this thing, it could show it as green. Not the right green, but green nevertheless. I thought that was cool so I gave back a star. If this device was in the $1k range, I'd pass.. This thing doesn't compare to a true PVS, but being a lower pricing, I can be more liberal on the starts due to the consideration of the cost. If your interested in night vision.. I'd save your pennies and buy a true optic. However if you want to play around without the investment, this might be a okay alternative. ... show more

  • Really good digital binoculars with night vision too!
I am quite impressed with these binoculars. They work equally well in both daylight and at night and I love the built in SD card for recording pictures and videos. The carrying case it comes with is quite nice and provides plenty of room for accessories, extra batteries, etc. Additionally, I like that it uses (and includes) a standard 18650 Li-Ion 2500mAh battery. It is an even bigger plus the battery can be charged in the binoculars using the included USB-C cable or you can pop it out and place it in a separate charger if you have one. It is also nice that it already comes with a 32Gb micro SD card. After taking it outside and playing with it a bit tonight, I am very pleased with how well it works. Outside at night, almost everything is visible even without the IR lights on it turned on. And, if you do turn the IR lights on it they are super bright and have a very nice wide angle to them. Personally, about the only negative for me is the way the screen/viewfinder is made, which mainly has to do with the fact that it is fixed focus without a diopter. This means that to be able to see it, I have to wear my reading glasses and that I can't hold it up close to my eyes when viewing it (I would need MUCH stronger glasses). I actually doubt almost anyone could see through it clearly with it up close to their eyes, which means that a lot of light is going to be spilling out around the viewfinder, illuminating your face in the dark. From the standpoint of being very nice night vision binoculars and also a camera, these are fantastic. From the standpoint of hunting, they are compromised by the viewfinder design which will make you highly visible to everything else. That said, as long you are aware of how they function, they seem to be very well built and I would have no problem recommending them. ... show more

  • Pricey, but decent.
First off, I really like the screen. You don't have to press them up against your face to see the full screen. Makes viewing with them less nausea inducing as most bino style nvg's. They are a bit pricey for the features you get from them. Night vision only worked for me, while using the built in IR light. Even on the IR off setting, it was NOT an improvement over normal bino mode at night. I have another pair that can use the ambient light, and does that fantastically. With these, you need at least level 1 IR lume to be able to see anything in the dark. This was looking under a street light about 20 yards away from me. I could see just like looking through normal binos, no night vision style assistance. IR level 1, I could see well beyond the light and they actually worked pretty good, but I saw the battery level start dropping within a few minutes. Once the IR was turned off, drain slowed significantly. Clarity is a bit of an issue as well. No matter how much I fiddled with them, focused them and how careful I was, the image was always fuzzy. Sometimes worse that others, but never a clear picture. While the image is certainly useable, you would expect much better for the price points. Battery life is pretty good when you're not using the IR light..... thus leads us to the major fail. You can't use night mode, without using the IR light. The IR light, EATS the battery fairly quickly. The unit itself is fairly bulky but not overly heavy. The included case is nice and keeps everything safe and secure. Even with these issues, they are still a good set of night vision binos and I like them. ... show more

  • Good night vision with a big screen
These night vision binoculars work very well. They give a clear picture once completely focused. The controls are simple enough for most to figure out. There are different IR brightness levels and a 5x optical zoom/ 8x digital zoom. The oversized screen is definitely these binoculars best feature. The wider range of view is really nice. They also come with a few accessories including a storage case. The binoculars are a little heavy, but they do have a screw thread to mount to a tripod. The binoculars are powered by rechargeable battery which is included. Overall, these binoculars have great night vision and are simple enough that anyone can use. ... show more
