Tried to show as many pictures as possible with all the lights capabilities. Be aware if you think the light is dead on arrival you have to press the middle button for 3 secs to get it to come on, then with one press of the middle button you can go back and forth between dark and light mode. Once turned on you can press the top (light) or bottom (dark) to make dimmer variations of either. I have 125 gallon tank and bought 2 of the biggest size (I think 30-36 inches) I put them on both sides. There is my middle partition that has none of the light directly above it but you CANNOT tell. These are bright enough not to worry. I hope the pictures help. I LOVE these lights and the variety of lighting I can create. My rocks are RED but appear pink in the dark lighting. These lights are low profile and take up very little room. In the first picture the lights are side by side on my counter with the back one in bright light and the front one with dark light. I have this light on my 10g betta tank and I got a cheap timer to run it, does really well with plants, I had to bring down the timer cycle from 8 hours to 6 to combat a small outbreak of algae on my floating plant roots, but that comes with purchasing any new light trying to figure out the best cycle. I have no complaints with the light, it gets a little splash by my sponge filter and stays running and cleans up very well, seems to be made of good quality metals and good light screen cover, I use a microfiber and vinegar/water mix to clean. ... show more

I got this product in January of this year, and i figured I'd wait for six months before I write a review. For the good news - this is an inexpensive, good looking and bright aquarium light. I got it for my plants and it does do it's job fairly well. The biggest problem I have is it's reliability. Already in six months about 8 of the led's have given out. Also, about 6 of them look much dimmer than the rest of them. At this rate, I will have to buy a new light in less than a year. I'd rather spend more money and buy a durable product if I were in your shoes. ... show more

I cannot say enough good things about these lights! I was shocked at how high quality they are, how sturdy they are, and the beautiful way they light up the tank. I have the daylight and moon settings just how I want them, and they stay that way. I have a mystery snail tank, and the moon lights are dark enough that it seems like night, and I can adjust both day and night lights to just the way I prefer. I would have expected lights like this to cost more, but they are so reasonable. If they continue to work as well as they are now (I've only had them a few weeks) I will keep buying this brand of lights. Impressive, thank you so much! Update: March 28. 2021. The day light suddenly stopped working. All I have now is the night light. It worked beautifully for the first few months. Because of this I have to go down to 3 stars. ... show more

Over all I'm happy with this light. It's over twice the brightness (actually measured) than my previous light and half the housing size. I can't really say how much it's affecting plant growth yet but the luminosity measurements are certainly promising. My only complaint is that I have to run the light at 100% brightness (both white & blue) because the dimming function uses PWM which is very hard on my eyes. The PWM is still present at 100% but much less than when dimmed; with the light directly on the glass and a high water level it is almost tolerable for short viewing times. Unfortunately this is a problem with most lights manufactured today and although better than any florescent they are causing increasing problems with human and animal health so I'm hoping non flickering/pulsing (at any speed) designs will be used for future models . ... show more

This little light pumps out a lot of light! It’s literally 1/2 the width of my other NICREW LED light, and puts out the same amount. Nicely illuminates a 29 gallon tank. Also, I introduced a few live plants, and they’re growing extremely well... the NICREW is the tank’s only light source so it’s doing its job nicely! NOTE: The tank contains some natural driftwood, which is releasing tannins into the water and giving everything a slightly darker, more red/brown color. The LED lights shine pure white, and you can adjust the red and blue lights’ brightness levels as well. ... show more

Great light for the price. I have it on a 5.5 gallon planted tank. Wanted to supplement the other light already on there. I have to say this thing is super bright. I have photos to compare the two. I’m sure with both, the tank is going to grow like crazy. The reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because when I got it, there was a wire sticking out from the trim. I was going to return it, and customer service agreed to it, but I took the trim off and reset the wire since I needed the light. This was a cosmetic issue because the light works fine. The bigger issue is that it gets hot. It isn’t scalding, but you couldn’t place your hand on the fixture for more then a minute or two. Not sure if it’s the particular instrument that I have or not. Complete junk, worked great for about two months, was on a timer, then daughter noticed it didn't turn on for her tank. This was over glass, not over open water. Tried different outlets and it wont turn on like it did before,, tried many times.. Don't see any way I can return, but if seller contacts me and offers return I will let all know. Update: Nicrew did respond promptly to my request for a return and offered me a replacement of their newer model, without sending the other back. I did take the switch apart and noticed the circuit board with the switch was burned in one place, must have been a faulty weld on the circuit? ... show more
