Got this today going to be used for emergency lighting. The solar panel will be mounted outside just waiting for the brackets inverter and other equipment first of all It got here fast it was well packed so nothing was damaged I was just test fitting things and it lit up right away. I’m indoors and my room is dark. So I tried propping it up against a window in partial shade at 10 am it’s southwest facing and still it getting a full 12v These panels are solid! I will wait for the rest of the hardware to connect the rest of the panels. But this lil charge controller while cute and doing its best probably won’t handle the full load I’m planning. But if you need something for a small inverter for the price you can’t beat this kit ... show more

    • Great little battery charger
Solar panel is simple and easy to install. Worming diagram is easy to understand. Working well to charge and car battery that I use on my trailer for a winch to pull cars up on trailer. Also has two usb ports that can be used to charge phones and electronics.

It quit working after a week. Amazon customer service could not help me because it was purchased more than 30 days ago. I could not contact the manufacturer and Amazon couldn’t help me with that either. Stay away from this product.

I’m not brand new to all things solar, but I’m pretty close. My goal is to provide power to a back yard tiki hut on our pond via solar panels that will eventually be connected to a solar charging capable, portable power station/inverter with built in solar charging regulator. The kit I ordered was the single panel version. What I liked most about the panel I received was how well it performed even in partial shade. A previous solar panel I ordered (different brand / different company) was rendered useless by the shadow of a bird high up in a tree. The build quality of this panel seems decent. Raw output was as expected - just above 22 VDC. With controller attached, power was regulated at 14.2 volts. The following day I tested charging with a small 12 volt lead acid battery. More clouds than sun, but it did fine. The controller either recognized my battery as lead acid, or just by luck that was the first default, so I didn’t have to change any settings. What I didn’t like was the manual. I needed a magnifier to read it. It wasn’t as comprehensive or clear as I had hoped with menu functions and settings. Hands on with the controller itself, I didn’t find navigating settings or getting changes to stick to be overly intuitive either. Also, it would have been helpful had the lead wires coming from the panel been attached to waterproof solar connectors. The larger kits have them. I have a variety of those connectors for DIY wiring, but the gauge of wire from this panel is prohibitively small for use with my connectors. ... show more

Well, the box was intact but the panel had many many defects and gouges and bubbles plus broken Buss Bars both on the front and back which means these were clearly FACTORY DEFECTS or seconds but there was more, the battery to controller wires were supposed to have Aligator clamps but had O-rings while all of the bare wire ends were cut far too short to clamp into the charge controller. Unfortunately the power output with full sun with back exposed as well was only 16.39 volts while my 14 year old 12 volt 100 watt 2 Buss Bars one way panel put out 21 volts! Apparently Amazon has gotten a lot of these back because when I mentioned the issues they immediately gave me a full refund and didn't even want them back ! Update: It gets even stranger after tinkering I see there are three setting for the Charge contoller, Flooded batteries, Lithium and LFP, my batteries are LFP and have always been charged as Lithium batteries but when fully charged to say 14.30 volts 12 hours later after being removed from the charger they always fell to 13.70 or lower, but with this charge controller set at LFP the batteries charge to 14.6 and drop only to 14.30 after 48 hours! The panel that had so many defects with a reflective pad behind it on overcast days is pulling now up to 18 Volts thanks to the reflective surface behind the panel which since these are Bifacial and pull energy from both sides, the panel is useful for now, thing is with all the clear manufacturing defects in this panel it never should have been shipped Plus ZERO Support by the seller, NO responses. ... show more
