I was getting on the freeway onramp when the other guy moved directly into my lane, forcing me off the road-and then he clipped me. Thankfully I had installed both the front and rear dashcam. The guy claimed it was my fault, and the dashcam proved otherwise. After having several Wheel Whiteness cameras that only lasted about two years each I decided to buy a more expensive dash camera in hopes of having one that would last for awhile. The Nextbase G622 is not that camera. Only having this camera for less than two months I have had it freeze up so many times that I have lost count. I have done everything Nextbase suggest like buying their expensive SD card and performing repeated formatting like it says but this has done nothing to stop it from freezing up. This camera cannot be trusted to be on and filming when you need it. When it freezes up the only thing that will work is to either to hit the reset or to completely unplug it until the battery runs out if the reset fails to work. This was too much money to spend on a camera that does not work right. I thought I had done enough research on this camera before I bought but I was unaware of the freezing up problem. This problem can easily be looked up by a Google search on The Nextbase G622 freeing up. If I would of known this I would not of purchased at all. ... show more

I've had several Dashcams... all cheap junk. This camera received top reviews by consumer reports.... it beat several cameras costing considerably more. My ONLY complaint is: The installation manual. It is one of those EU pictionary manuals which I hate. One step shows a piece of paper on the dash and a hand turning the lens. Initially I thought the camera required focusing... it took me several minutes of fooling around to realize that turning the polarizing filter eliminated reflections off of items you have on top of the dash of your car... pretty slick feature... except they never mention the purpose of the ring on the front of the camera. This camera is made in UK.... there's no reason for the crappy quick start pictorial. If your selling a product worldwide... provide a manual that Describes what's happening in the pictorial images. A small gripe as it does not affect the camera...which is excellent Highly recommended. ... show more

    • NOT A GOOD PRODUCT
UPDATE: My PC and device started talking to each other, first menu was to update the device. Which I did and it has been working fine since then. But there was no warning on what was wrong. Was working great for awhile, then started freezing video. Then noticed battery was very low. I leave it in the car unless it gets above a certain temp. But now that its cooler outside I still have the same problem. So do I remove it from the car when not in use? And charge it in the house? EDIT: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE. It worked ok for a few months, now it just locks up. Tried resetting it NO change. What a disappointment. I would like it replacement or money refunded, but cannot figure out the warranty. ... show more

Works really well. Great features and video. Some issues with the live view functioning on my iPhone with cellular service enabled. In airplane mode it worked fine. Worked flawlessly on my non-cellphone iPad. Downloading clips and viewing them worked fine with cellular service on. Not really sure I would ever need to be viewing the live feed anyway on my phone. ... show more

I have the add on rear camera and hard wired kit. I was rear ended and the driver drove off. Replacement rear bumper, sensor re-alignment and labor was over $2,000! The rear camera and front camera caught the driver, license plate, and proved I didn't back into him(while I was stopped at a red light). Once his insurance company saw the video, they paid 100%. ... show more

    • The replaced unit was no charm!!
The new unit accepted the micro card perfectly (unlike the unit I returned) ... making me decide this is the unit for me. I cut up the camera box which had a complete description of the camera and listed listed all I would ever want to know about the unit. I also cut up the carton that the hard wire kit came in (which I also ordered) Like the info on the camera box, the hard wire kit box also contained valuable instructions (which I also wanted to save) ... including how to install. I put these now handy cut cardboard "info" panels into a nice small makeshift zippered case ... I put together to safely carry the camera, installation accessories, and cardboard panels (formerly part of the camera and hard wire cartons. THEN COMES THE BAD NEWS! I discover the so-called "MOTION ACTUATED PARKING MODE" was COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO WHAT WAS DESCRIBED BY NEXTBASE! It was SHOCK ACTUATED! MOTION ACTUATED AND SHOCK ACTUATED ARE TWO-DIFFERENT-ANIMALS!! This unit, WHILE IN "PARKING MODE" begins to record 9.5 seconds AFTER MY CAR IS IMPACTED BY ANOTHER CAR ... THAT MAKES IT USELESS TO ME ... ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M PARKED IN MY GARAGE, WHEN PARKING MODE IS MOST IMPORTANT! ... I'm ordering a different dashcam from a different manufacturer. ONE that begins to record movement BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER IMPACT ... NOT 10 SECONDS AFTER THE HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER HAS ABSCONDED!! Now to see about sending this Nextbase dashcam back without its factory carton! ... show more

I had the 522 before this one. I decided to upgrade to the 622 and I have no regrets. Great quality video - easy to use - great build quality. I highly suggest getting the rear window camera with it as well!
