  • Great Cam and a Great Price! Packed with features
We purchased the F7N Redtiger camera about 18 months ago and it has now paid for itself 100x over when it provided evidence to the police and insurance that my wife was not the one at fault in an accident that totaled her vehicle and the other party lied to the police. My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility. Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Great suction cup with integrated GPS antenna makes installation a breeze. Cam will slide off mount if you want to hide it while parked without removing the entire mount. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle. Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can't show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can't figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it's a long up-hill battle to get the other party's insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it's serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Have a copy safely on your phone so you can give it to your insurance company and lawyer immediately! Buy the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam Hardwire Kit to go with it if you want 24/7 monitoring without killing your car battery. Never wonder who backed into you in a parking lot or keyed your car if it happens to you. Some things that set Redtiger apart from the others: They actually have tech support. We had an issue with one camera not liking our SD card and contacted support to see if we had a bum Cam or bad setting as the issue was intermittent. Turns out it was just a faulty card after running a write test on the computer. Not a big issue as SD cards are cheap, but good to know that if you have an issue that Redtiger does support what they sell. Software updates. We've owned the F7N for about 18 months and have received software updates to improve functionality. The cam was great when we got it and even better now with new features added. Proof in the pudding: We liked our F7N so much we just bought another Redtiger cam, a F7N Touch, for a new (to us) vehicle and it's great too. Note: I wasn't paid for this review nor given a demo unit or anything else. I'm only a satisfied customer that is enjoying the premium quality and features at a great price vs the big-name competitors and their high prices. ... show more

  • Look no further, this is the camera for your car
Exactly a week after installing this REDTIGER dash cam, my wife got into a motor vehicle accident (not her fault, no really) The accident triggered the dash cam system to immediately secure the crash footage by locking it and placing it into a separate folder on the MicroSD card. I was very impressed with the resolution since the incident happened early in the morning when it was still dark. The quality during daytime recording is even better. The package also includes a rear view camera and both are extremely easy to install. I did not hard wire the system, however, you do have that option. After activating the built-in wi-fi, you can use your phone to access all the video clips (after downloading the redtiger app). The app and camera are very user-friendly. The camera has GPS so all clips are accompanied with the exact time and location of the recording and the speed you were driving. The 32GB MicroSD card is sufficient for your recording which will loop unless you save certain clips. You can always upgrade by installing a bigger capacity SD card, but probably not necessary. The suction cup is strong and sturdy and is easily removable in case you need to clean the surface of the interior windshield. So far, I have purchased TWO of these cameras for each of our cars. If you are looking for an affordable, high quality 4K dash cam, this is it. ... show more

  • Good set for the money
Been running this for a bit in the car. Decent quality video from the front. 4k? I don't know about that. Looks fairly pixelated at times, but it's unsharpened highly, to judge by the details on license plates and street signs. That makes them easy to read. For a hundo, performs better than I expected. Rear camera's mushier of course, but adequate. Speaking of which, is that rear cable long enough for your car? Well I ran it from the front windshield of our Chrysler minivan all the way to the back window and had not only enough slack to let the tailgate open w/o issue, but there's still probably a foot to spare, so it's plenty long. FRONT CABLE should be a foot longer, IMO. In both my Honda Accord and the Chrysler van, it was barely long enough to get from the front dash lighter socket around passenger side wheelwell and up back to middle of windshield. Bench testing in dim or harshly lit kitchen, seems good so far. Simple controls, good manual. The Android app has terrible reviews, but it worked OK for me. Connection process was fine. Downloaded selected videos fine (larger front files at 4k obviously take a while) over camera-to-phone wifi. This is on a cheap OnePlus Android phone. Pulled card and threw it into a card reader on computer and the files also downloaded just fine. (Faster this way.) Date/time stamp with GPS coords on file were all there in either. Not sure how the GPS track is encoded, not sure if I'll install their software or not (download from a google site, gives of sketchy vibes...) Downloaded their windows software, works OK, but could not get front/rear video to switch or play sidebyside. Turns out the files looked like they were named incorrectly from front and rear, rear file always having its last second (file name in format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS_####) 1 second later than front camera file. Renaming those, software would play it, but putting these files in video editor, it was easy to see the problem. Rear camera starts 0.02 seconds before the front camera. Not a huge deal I suppose, but with follow-on effects like file-naming issue, kind of a pain. ... show more
