We purchased the F7N Redtiger camera about 18 months ago and it has now paid for itself 100x over when it provided evidence to the police and insurance that my wife was not the one at fault in an accident that totaled her vehicle and the other party lied to the police. My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility. Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Great suction cup with integrated GPS antenna makes installation a breeze. Cam will slide off mount if you want to hide it while parked without removing the entire mount. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle. Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can't show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can't figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it's a long up-hill battle to get the other party's insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it's serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Have a copy safely on your phone so you can give it to your insurance company and lawyer immediately! Buy the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam Hardwire Kit to go with it if you want 24/7 monitoring without killing your car battery. Never wonder who backed into you in a parking lot or keyed your car if it happens to you. Some things that set Redtiger apart from the others: They actually have tech support. We had an issue with one camera not liking our SD card and contacted support to see if we had a bum Cam or bad setting as the issue was intermittent. Turns out it was just a faulty card after running a write test on the computer. Not a big issue as SD cards are cheap, but good to know that if you have an issue that Redtiger does support what they sell. Software updates. We've owned the F7N for about 18 months and have received software updates to improve functionality. The cam was great when we got it and even better now with new features added. Proof in the pudding: We liked our F7N so much we just bought another Redtiger cam, a F7N Touch, for a new (to us) vehicle and it's great too. Note: I wasn't paid for this review nor given a demo unit or anything else. I can't say enough great things about the camera. I've had another brand before but it's also been about 8 years and I would like something newer with more capabilities with technology these days. So after doing much research I ended up buying this particular camera because I just wanted something simple. I wanted to be able to record it. Obviously they all have a loop and I wanted one on the front of the car and the back of the car with good camera imaging and at least an upgradable or an SD card compatible with holding at least 256 GB. So I found this went with this dash cam, Setup was easy in my Grand Cherokee. Plenty of cord from the front to the back with just a little bit to spare for cordage. The directions were straightforward, easy to understand everything made sense. I really didn't have any problems with anything. I downloaded the app. Some people did not like some things on the app. Given a 3.8 Stars on my Android reviews of the app. I still went through with it. It connected, and hooked up and I'm able to view videos and capture pictures from the phone while Wi-Fi'd. I guess the only Downer would be that you always have to connect the phone to the camera anytime you want to view videos or photographs or locked videos from the phone. A 4 second inconvenience. I went ahead and downloaded their media player from the website so I can take. The micro disc out and pop in my computer and play it through that. Picture is great! Quality is great. The setup I have for the camera is great. The software for the phone and the app works great on my pixel 8 pro. I got in touch with customer service about four times and they always got back to me with in 5 or so hours. Mainly regarding a better more storage micro disc and they recommended a couple of things that could handled what the camera needs. I also thought I lost the instructions and got in touch with them and they sent me a link right away to download and view The price was about a $20 or $30 discount from what it was advertised from.     • Good for driving, but a sentinel it is not.
Easy to install, works well but sentry mode is poo. Got the Hardwire kit, reversed what the directions said to do in the broken English it was typed in and that operated as it should( my battery isnt drained). But seriously I jumped all over my truck rocked it like crazy couldn't get it to switch to recording. If you set the settings too sensitive than it just save/locks every video cause the roads in oregon are such crap it thinks you're in an accident every trip. Clarity of video is cool, the app is functional to get videos. Idk be careful, I installed mine and the first day everyone tried to wreck into me or cut me off more than usually happens so the bad juju needs to simmer down a bit after install. Got one for both my Truck and car but have kept the cig lighter hookup in the car cause i only got the hardwire kit for sentry mode which as mentioned, doesn't work good. If you are forgetfull, a hardwire kit might still be worth it though, 8 hours of running with car off wont drain the battery, but two days makes it go clickity clickity, ask me how i know. Works great as an improvised speedo/compass as well seeing as my mid 90s vehicles don't have those features operating accurately at this point. Also both cameras are pretty small so they don't obscure your vision or demand too much real-estate front or back. Might need a different mounting bracket system though, during freezes it seems to come unsuctioned fairly often, leaving me to find it hanging like an unlucky paratrooper during the Normandy Invasion. All in all even though it doesn't do 100% of what i wanted from it it's still worth the money and just park next to Teslas if you want sentry mode, they usually are recording, thats what I've been doing for a while now. ... show more
