So I have used this on v6, v8 gasoline engines and it did ok but on a Dura Max diesel engine in a Chevy truck it was a no go! The wires got extremely hot and so did the battery clamps! This is the “4000 amp” version and let me tell you being an electrician by trade there is no way in hell it could do 4000 amps, it would turn this whole hing into a molten mass of junk! Here’s a little info: A 500 MCM copper conductor is good for 380 amps. So there there is no way the little conductor’s on this jump box would handle 4000 amps. The attached picture is a 500 MCM so you see the size, it would take like 12 of these to get close to 4000 amps. ... show more

The unit came fully charged and at the time the battery in my motorcycle was totally dead for days. I walked outside, hooked it up to the battery. Press the start button on my bike and before one revolution the bike was running. No exaggeration. It started faster than a brand new battery in my bike, it has been several weeks since I’ve used it and it remains fully charged. What a powerhouse. I jumped on this deal thinking it was too good to be true, and it looks like it was. The first unit was DOA: the flashlight doesn't turn on, the charge indicator shows nothing, and there is no response to >20 second push of the power button. If I plug the battery connector in then it lights up and beeps indicating it is not hooked up to a battery, but other than that nothing. I had Amazon send a replacement unit and that is doing the same thing. I let both units charge overnight using a standard 2.1 amp wall plug and the included USB cable and they both repro the same issue. ... show more

Bought this because of a $55 slick deals posting. Already have a much more expensive battery pack, but man these things are sure easy for the wife and kids to use vs jumper cables or me having to drive an hour and back when they are out to help them. Just received it, went on a 2-week vacation, came back to a dead 4Runner battery that read 8.8v (had enough power to click click click the starter solenoid but not turn the engine over). Connected the battery pack terminals and the V6 4Runner started right up. The built-in flashlight is pretty weak but overall for the price it is worth having a second one and keeping it in another vehicle.
