These worked very well after my eye surgery. At first, I needed to apply cold compresses but the gauze got warm right away. I put a partially frozen one over the wet gauze and it kept it nice and cold for the full 10 mins. It was also easy to wipe the surface of the eye mask with an alcohol pad to keep it clean. The surgeon said my bruising was minimal because I did a great job with the compresses. After a few days, when swelling settles in, you’re supposed to do warm compresses. You have to be careful when you microwave the eye mask. It gets VERY HOT quickly but I found 18 secs to be perfect for me. Move the beads around after microwaving it and use a thin towel or sterile gauze between you and the eye mask. It was so soothing, I often fell asleep while using it. I am so glad I had these. It was nice to treat both eyes at the same time and after all my use, they still look brand new. ... show more

My eye doctor wanted me to buy a gel mask to help open my tear ducts. So I use this mask warmed and it works perfect and feels wonderful. I noticed in some of the reviews that people complained about the mask melting. Well, read the directions people! It’s so so so soft on the side without the beads and so smooth all the way around, unlike the cheapo ones that tend to have rigid sides. It also comes with a bag to keep in the freezer to prevent freezer smell which honestly is the best part because I don’t have to use my own ziplock to keep smells off it ! When I have migraines or I wake up with puffy eyes, I've always just put a bag of frozen veggies wrapped in a towel over my eyes. I can't believe I went so long without searching for a freezable eye mask. This one is super comfortable. I love how it never freezes solid. The little beads in it are always malleable to fit perfectly around my eye area. I can move it up to my forehead for headache relief. I also like that it comes with a reusable storage bag so that it doesn't absorb any scents from the freezer. I travel a lot, so the storage bag comes in extra handy for me. The only minor downfall is that it doesn't stay frozen for long. Maybe about 15 minutes. I haven't tried it heated yet (too hot for that!), but I will in the winter. This is worth getting and definitely serves its purpose. The eye area with beads is quite thin so doesn’t conform well to the shape of your face. The elastic strap at the back makes it a secure, comfortable fit around your head though. I purchased this item due to constant headaches. I have noticed a difference in my headaches so overall I am very pleased with the purchase along with the price. I put it on when I go to bed. It is comfortable. I don't notice it or feel the need to adjust it once it is on. One side, has the beads that freeze and the opposite side is a soft fabric. The elastic strap is wide and does not roll around when you are wearing it. The only thing I wish this product had was a longer lasting time.
