Well made. Set up could be easier but it works. The printed instructions are terrible and not all-inclusive but provides the basic info. It's supposed to be for restaurants as well but I haven't yet found out how to set up sub category items like side dishes or add items. It is functional and sturdy. I guess I'll get it figured out eventually. Here's an update: The software disc that came with it needs a password. It doesn't provide a password and Perfiware isn't responding to emails. ... show more

    • Cash Register for Small Businesses - my first cash register
This is my first cash register and it has a learning curve for me. The one thing I noticed is the cash drawer is fixed and can't be removed. I remember when I was a cashier I could lift it and put coupons underneath the drawer. It prints out a receipt and the little LCD window is too small for me to see. There is a display on the backside so the customer can see the amount owed. They can't see anything else. It comes with a CD loaded with the software so you will need a computer connected to the cash register and monitor to run the software. I looked at the software and it seems easy to use. I ordered this to use at the fares where my granddaughter sells her homemade crafts. I handle the money and this cash register will make it easier to handle the sales. The next fare is in December so I have more time to learn this cash register. I like the buttons as they are easy to see and use. It does have a no-tax button which is helpful as in my state clothes and certain other items are nontaxable. There are no fees to use the software or for technical support. There are two RX232 ports for external receipt printer & barcode scanner, a USB port for connecting to the computer software, and a PS2 interface for connecting the keyboard. The handheld scanner has to be connected to a power supply. There are two power supply ports on the interface. I think this is a great first cash register for someone with a small business like my granddaughter. I will update my review after I have more use experience. ... show more

On the smaller side but adequate. Cash drawer does not have a removable insert, you would either have to remove all cash or entire drawer to bring to office for counting. User manual could be more laymen friendly, probably perfectly fine for those who install cash registers regularly but confusing for a first timer. Would recommend with the understanding you may need help in set-up/ programming. ... show more
