  • Does what it needs to do and its simple
This is a simple and effective way to turn on and off the vacuum whenever I turn on or off one of my woodworking tools. This allows me to collect saw dust just by turning on the saw or sander. You just plug the saw into the tool outlet and the vacuum into the vac accessory outlet. When the controller sees a connected load from the saw, it turns on the accessory outlet (vacuum in my case). It has the ability to manually or automatically control the accessory outlet. There are also timers for the delay on and off. The settings are intuitive and simple. What more could one ask for? Works exactly as advertised. ... show more

  • Works Perfectly
My intention in purchasing this switch was to automate the process of turning on my vacuum system when I use the table saw. I often forget to do this, and end up using the table saw without having dust extraction! Not a good idea. In the end, I wired this device to my shop-vac, and to a small power strip. Into this power strip I plug my router table, table saw, planer, and miter saw, with an outlet remaining for use with portable tools, such as an orbital sander. This device works absolutely perfectly, turning on the vacuum each time I use any of the connected devices. A very nice feature is that you can configure a delay between when the power tool is energized, and when the vacuum is turned on. As both devices are likely to produce power surges, it's very nice to be able to delay the onset of the vacuum turn-on, while the tool gets past it's turn-on surge. In the same way, this device also provides a turn-off delay for the vacuum. So, once the tool is turned off, the vacuum can be made to run for up to 30 seconds after, so that it can complete "clean up" after the tool stops. Finally, the device has well marked buttons to manually turn the vacuum on and off, when needed. So, when work is done, I can attach hand-tools to the shop vac, and use these buttons to turn on/off the vacuum for workshop clean-up. All in all, and incredibly good deal for the price. The device seems well built, and the labeling of both the outlets and the various buttons is very clear. An easy five stars. ... show more

  • Excellent device, very satisfied with the performance.
This is what I was looking for. It spares me turning on the shop vacuum when I use my shop equipments. It even has an optional lag shut off to run the shop vac for few seconds after the table saw or the other equipment is turned off for the purpose of clearing any debris or saw still lingering in the pipes. it is designed so you won't have an influx of amps in both machine and Vac at the same time which may end up tripping your circuit breaker. Very pleased with a device that is way past due coming to the market. Five stars and even more. ... show more

  • Works as Described
Basically, this is a good auto switch. I use it to control a shop vac that provides dust collection for one of my CNC routers. When I start the router, the switch turns on dust extractor after a 1 second delay. The delay allows the router spindle to fully spin up before adding the load of the extractor. The only issue I have (and it's a minor one) is when initially setting the start and stop time delays, you can only increase the time until it hits the upper limit and then starts over at zero. I missed my desired setting on both the upper and lower limits and found myself cycling through the delay times a couple times. It was a bit frustrating, but you generally only need to do one initial setup so while it can be a bit annoying, you only do it once. This is why I gave it a 3 start "Easy to use" rating. Not sure if it remembers the settings if you pull the switch out of the receptacle. All in all, it's a nice bit of kit and I have no problems recommending it. ... show more

  • Lasted quite a while
Bought mine in July of ‘23 and it is now December ‘25. While I would have liked a few years of use, my shop is not kind to it. It is in the floor and gets kicked, stepped on, covered in debris, and constantly switching out machines. It still works, but the “On” switch has become loose from abuse. I am going to look to see what other options may have come about since buying this one, but my default is to buy this one again. I’ll keep the old one for parts, just in case. But have been pleased with this one’s performance. The only reason I’m considering a change at all is that the pushbutton controls are cumbersome and get hit by chords, hoses, and feet. So I’m looking for one where the buttons may not get bumped as easily. ... show more

  • Works Exactly as Advertised…
…and could not be more happy. The delay in this unit stops my breaker from tripping every time like my previous product did. Delays the dust collection system and vacuum from coming on at the same time solving the problem.

  • The Best! I have 3 in my shop.
Love not needing to worry about tripping breakers with a customizable power on delay. Easy to use and nice that it also has auto, on, and off buttons too. Would be better if outlets faced downward, I bought some flush mount 1 foot extension cords so they don't stick out too and get snagged.

  • It’s a switch for your vacuum and you need one!
I love this thing! Use it to control on/off/auto on your vacuum when your power tool draws power. There are only two plug receptacles (tool & vacuum) which seems to confuse people into thinking that you can only use one tool. Let me un-confuse — plug your power strip into the tool receptacle and voila, you can use more tools. Also, you can use multiple vacuums using the same strategy. This thing is simple, it looks for power being drawn in the tool receptacle, and activates the vacuum receptacle when this happens. You can fine tune the amount of power drawn before the vacuum switch is activated. So if you plug your cell phone charger into your power strip, the vacuum is not necessary. Just set the power higher than what your charger draws. Also, you can tweak the amount of time that the vacuum receptacle stays on after the power draw is done. This is especially useful for clearing your vacuum tubes of debris. One final note, your vacuums must remain in the ON position at all times for this to work. Seems obvious, but maybe not? If you just want to use the vacuum without a power draw from the tool, then push the button on the front of the strip to ON. When you’re done, either turn it to OFF or AUTO which will look for the power draw from a tool. ... show more
