  • This product plays .MKV files
This is a five=star product but I give it four so that more may read it. When I buy something I always check the one-star / four-star reviews. For years I've always had trouble playing .MKV files - usually I have sound but no video. Converting them to .AVI works but things like subtitles files are lost. The first thing I tried to play on this player was some .MKV files I hadn't yet deleted. It plays them all beautifully. So far there is nothing to complain about. I chose to order this player partly because the remote control shown has button layout similar to the player I'm replacing. Years ago my first player had a button to see the remaining play time. This is my fourth player and the second and third ones had on remaining-player feature. By selecting PAUSE on this player displays a play-line bar with current dot-position of the play. I also like that looking at the list of files available to play, you can select any to play and the display shows a picture taken from the selected file. This can be a help better identifying the file. Threw the over twenty years of using media players, this player so by far the best! Funny thing: it's physical appearance is smaller than the other three and I initially was expecting an inferior player. ... show more

  • It works but it occasionally freaks out and stops reading cards
As the title says, it did what I needed to do, we have it in our lobby cycling through videos for customers to view and purchase. Overall it does what it needs to do, despite its cheesy android interface. What DOES happen though is it occasionally just completely freaks out and doesn't want to boot up. You have to unplug all memory cards, reset the device to factory settings and then replug your memory card. We do this about once every 2 weeks. Its manageable but completely unecessary. I would have paid a couple bucks more for something more reliable but it is what it is. It works, just not amazing. ... show more

  • Dispositivo muy útil
Me gustó mucho el tamaño del dispositivo, lo que facilita su ubicación donde se desea emplear. No me gustó que no tiene el cable HDMI.

  • Nice for digital picture frame
I bought this just to use a spare monitor as a big photo frame & for that, it is excellent. Two dings. First, no way to control anything without the remote. No controls whatsoever on the box itself. Second, it will only play 1,000 files per folder and the slideshow cannot span multiple folders. Granted, 1,000 pictures sounds like a lot but if you show 6 per minute, you're talking about a mere three hours before the same pictures start popping up. That feels like something that could be extended with a firmware update but could also be limited by memory, so maybe not. All of that said, no complaints...just suggestions. Considering the reasonable price, I am not disappointed. If you want a simple way to show photos off of a USB drive or SD card, it's hard to beat. ---- Update Looking at their website, I noticed a new firmware was released. It always a good sign to see companies continue to update their products. The process is very straightforward. Format a SD card/USB stick, copy a zip file to it, plug it into the media player & let it go. Took about 10 minutes. My only suggestion would be to have a basic version log on the website to tell anyone interested what was fixed or added in this firmware version. Nothing elaborate or too detailed. But if anyone is interested enough to look for updates, they are probably the kind of people interested in looking at what the updates do. ... show more

  • Device works great!
Bought this to hook-up to an old receiver so I could play MP3's from a memory stick and it works great! Set-up for automatic play was easy. Very pleased with purchase!

  • Works well may need to adjust some settings
Overall this is a very nice player. It is very similar to the MIcca. An instruction manual on glossy paper is clear and well illustrated. It states that the default setting work best for most users. That however, was not my case. At first the screen was monochrome. Changing the video output mode from PAL to NTSC corrected the problem and provided full color output. The auto detect HDMI had to be changed to OFF in order to get the A/V input to work. Also the audio had to be set to analog in order for the unit to recognize and display subrip (.srt) subtitle files. After these adjustments the unit works great. The one feature that I find annoying is the fact that the indicate light is very bright and distracting especially when viewing in a dimly lit room for the move theater experience. I would still recomend the Muemi Attom. It preforms well and is a good value. ... show more
