Took to beach and first day we had some heavy winds. I bought 2 extra poles. First time setting up, so of course it fell a couple times because i did not have it right. In my opinion if you have heavy winds just use 2 poles and put raised end facing the wind. The first step is to make sure you FULLY stretch it out in a X pattern. FILL BAGS FULL with sand from in front of bag where lines are attached toward top. This will leave a hole for the sand bag's to slide into when you raise poles because it will pull bags toward the top. Raise 2 poles in heavy wind 15-20mph, 4 poles below that, if you have them. Place rounded top of poles around 6"-12" from corner and tilt the bottom of pole back a little bit toward center. Take foot/hands and push allot of sand up around bottom of pole. When you raise poles in place that will pull sand bags into hole's that you dug to fill bags. Then COMPLETELY cover bags with allot of sand. Will help keep in place if you get gust of wind. If you do not cover bags the wind can cause the bags to slide up out of hole and POLLS WILL FALL! Believe me. LOL. I bought the Gigante and with 2 poles you can get 4 to 5 adults in shade. Maybe more according to sun location. With 4 poles you get a HUGE area of shade for allot of people. Just move the chairs as the sun changes position. I LOVE OURS!!! Allot lighter than the 10X10 metal canopy i used to have to carry down on beach. Other people on the beach that had the Shibumi kept coming over asking what it cost and that they liked it allot better because of more shade and theirs made allot of noise flapping in the wind. ... show more

This tent was perfect the first time we used it. It didn't fall down once. I originally was looking at those 'sun shades' and contemplating spending the extra money on it - thinking it was worth it because it seemed like it may be easier to assemble (I have 2 toddlers and a newborn) so hands and time are a priority. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money as this met all of OUR expectations. For one person to set up I'd say it could take up to 15 minutes to put up (filling the bags takes the longest but if you're getting this you most likely have kids or have something to shovel/scoop sand) we had 4 people set this up and it took 3 minutes. I recommend reading some reviews as some say to tilt the poles a certain way and not straight up and down. That's what we did and didn't have any issues. I bought the coral color - I looked to our left and someone had the teal - then literally to my right someone had the white tent. It looked like a Neso ad. ... show more

We got this for our beach vacation. The first time setup took us a little longer than it should have. It was a windy day which did not help. The tent held up against the wind very well. It was plenty large enough for our group of 4. I would recommend getting the extra poles especially for windy days. We got a scooper as well for the sand was very nice. We were waiting for a second set of poles to arrive and decided to take our Neso to our local park to do a test run on it before we go to the beach later this summer. We have only ever had traditional canopies for our outdoor adventures and I have to say this was super easy to set up and use. Granted we did not fill the bags with sand(we don’t have beaches in WV), we just staked it in the ground for our test run. Setting up with stakes took all of 3 minutes to accomplish, we imagine filling the bags with natural elements like sand will take a bit longer but seems like maybe only an extra 10 minutes with 2 of us working on it at the same time. We had about 10MPH breezes rolling through and the Neso didn’t even notice the breeze. I think the only thing I would say is a con is that it doesn’t come with any type of shovel or anything to help you get natural elements into the sand bags. But that’s easily remedied if you buy a folding shovel(we will before our beach trip), it will fit easily into the bag, as the carrying bag has extra room in there. A feature I didn’t realize was there… The carrying bag has an insulated pouch to carry a cold drink or two. Which is a nice touch. All in all, the set up was easy It provided sufficient shade for our family of 4. Didn’t budge in 10MPH breeze. Got a few compliments. Easy take down. Taking down and packing up was a breeze, so much easier than a traditional canopy. We are really happy with the performance and ease of use for this product. Update: Took our Neso sun shade out for its maiden voyage on the beaches of Outer Banks. The first day within the first 2 hours both poles snapped in half. Luckily we had purchased an extra set of poles before we left for the beach. Could by user error as we had only set it up at our local park before our beach vacation where there was a small breeze. The rest of our vacation our extra set of poles kept our Neso up, so as I said the snapping of the first 2 poles could have just been user error or a manufacturing issue. Setting it up, using sand to fill the bags was a breeze, quick and almost effortless. I had mentioned thinking we would need a shovel, but I was wrong, it was easy to fill the bags by hand and probably faster than using a shovel. We also took an extra step and buried the bags in the sand, which I think helped to keep the bags stable in the high winds. Taking down, I thought we would have issues with sand wanting to stick to the bag, but again I was wrong, if you shake the bags out properly, the sand doesn’t stick in the bags. All in all we are very happy with our purchase of our Neso Sunshade. We are sad that we are back down to one set of poles as we would like to have the additional set for other applications. ... show more
