  • Where Have You Been All My Life? Light, Compact, Durable in High Winds, Bright & Visible
Color: Coral
We try to spend as much time as possible when we get to go to the beach. Using the Neso Tent, we had great sun protection and a cool place to sit for over 6 hours, with more shade than three umbrellas combined for the Neso 1 Tent and more shade than 5 umbrellas with the Neso Grande (we ordered two tents for our large family) - with a lot less hassle to set up. Through use over two of the windiest days, the tent withstood strong gusts of wind while other umbrellas were flying down the beach. I wish I found this years ago!! I had people coming up to me asking where I got it all weekend. I would suggest ordering the Neso Grande as it is only a little more expensive and you get a lot more room. They come in lots of bright colors, so my kids always knew where to find our stuff and people meeting up with us could find us easily as well. Set Up - It only took a minute to set up and was easy enough for my kids to put together. The shelter and sandbags are made with quality materials that look like they will hold up over time. The corners of the tent are reinforced with heavier material so that they are stronger and will not tear, which I did not see on any of Neso competitors. The poles have foam balls at the ends that hold up the tent so that they do not tear through the material. After taking down the tent, the poles did not leave a mark in the material, even though it was pulled taut for hours. Usability - The tent comes with a dual-pocket carrying bag that is made with strong material with a strap to put over your shoulder. One pocket contains your tent connected to the sandbags, the other pocket contains the two poles. The entire tent breaks down to fit into a bag that is about the same size or smaller than a school bag and weighs less than 5 lbs. It is so much easier than an umbrella, I wish I found this years ago and stopped having to mess with angling the umbrella to get the most shade and chasing the umbrella when there is a gust of wind. Customer Service - I ordered two tents and they both arrived in two days. There are a bunch of videos on their site on how to set up your tent, how to reinforce the sandbags in high winds and how to angle the poles to withstand the highest of winds. Even with all that content on their site, I also received two emails asking how if I was happy with my purchase with instructions on how to get the most use out of my tent and if I had any questions - directing me to call the seller's company line. My family is really happy with our purchase and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who likes to spend time outdoors. Side note- while we use ours at the beach, I've had friends say they use it to go camping and instead of filling the bags with sand, they fill the bags with whatever they have available - clothes, rocks, wood etc. ... show more

  • Have kids? Going on a beach vaca? You need this!
Color: Teal
Don’t hesitate just get it! So easy to set up and was wonderful for keeping 2 adults and 2 kids out of the sun in Costa Rica. We threw ours in a checked bag and were so glad we did!! In my experience beach vacas with kids can become challenging if you don’t know the shade situation. This takes the guesswork out of it and guarantees a shady spot. Did great in mild/moderate wind. The material is like a swimsuit so no sand sticks to it making it really easy clean up to throw in the bag it comes in. And it’s surprisingly light and package. I can’t say enough great things. If you have kids and are going on a beach vaca you need this! I’m only sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. (This is not a promotional review or anything I just need the world to know!) ... show more

  • Perfect for beach, even in high winds conditions!
Color: Teal
Bought this tent for our frequent trips to Hilton Head Island and wanted something bigger, better and most importantly lighter than your average umbrella/canopy. Have had our share of umbrellas that require a mallet, steel pin drill or in some cases the screw type feature that augers into the sand and are a hassle to lug around and then set up. Have also seen our share of the big canopies that everyone buys for the beach. After a ton of research, I was down to this Neso Grande tent and another more simplistic solution that was more than double the cost but required at least 2 mph winds to keep the canopy up to provide cover. I worried about that other competitive product design due to the fact that every time we had gone to the beach the wind was very unpredictable and at least once throughout the day the wind direction would change which would require you to move that canopy to follow the wind to keep it standing. I found the Neso that was not as simplistic as that design but seemed like a much better solution in that once you set it up you didn't have to worry about anything other than following the shade as the sun moved across the sky. Looking deeper into the reviews on the Neso tent, I did have some reservations as I read some that brought up concerns with stability in higher winds and then also construction quality in the past years. Being an Engineer and looking closer at the design I was able to look past some of those critical reviews as the design seemed to address most of the issues by being forgiving and allowing some flexibility on the setup with the use of the bags as counterweights. I ended up purchasing the Neso to try it out and we are 110% satisfied with the purchase. After receiving and inspecting the product I can see that Neso addressed some of the early quality issues by redesigning the corner reinforcements to eliminate the hard corner that caused some of the tears in the fabric. The cording and fabric themselves seem to be in very good condition and of high-quality materials. After using this tent for a week now, I do have to say that all my reservations have been eliminated. The hardest part in setting the product up is in filling the counterweight bags with sand. One product improvement I would recommend for Neso would be to eliminate the cost of the thermal pocket on the carry bag and use that cost savings to add a shovel to the product pack out. (Recommendation for those of you investing in this product, stop at a beach store before heading to the sand and buy a small shovel for $5, don’t buy just a small 3-inch kids shovel and pail, buy the spade with a 6-inch head and short 2-foot handle). The secret to setting this tent up is not only fill the bags with as much sand as they can fit but to also dig an 8-inch-deep hole and throw the bag in the hole then cover it with additional sand. One day we did experience higher winds, at least 15 MPH, that were damaging other canopies and umbrellas that were later seen in the trash pile. Even the umbrellas that are set up by the beach patrol using their time tested equipment and techniques we not a match for the winds this day as a number of the umbrellas came out and started rolling down the beach endangering others. Throughout the week we had at least a couple dozen people stop by to ask about this unique tent after they noticed how easy it was to set up, how small the package was, how big it was or how it can withstand the wind gusts that caused havoc for the other structures. I highly recommend this product and now feel that I could be a sales person for Neso after answering so many questions. One additional comment, we did buy two additional poles from our local REI for $29 so we could use entire space under the canopy. I believe having the additional legs also improved the wind handling capabilities of the structure. ... show more

  • Works pretty good!
Color: Aqua Fronds
Bought this for beach trips - figured I'd get my own shade and save the money on not having to rent them. Used it for the first time in Clearwater Florida a couple weeks ago, and it worked pretty good! Easy to set up for sure. The only reason I took off one star is that it was pretty windy the day we were there, and the wind did knock down the poles several times. Not a huge deal to put them back up, but it did get a little annoying having to readjust quite a few times. We could've changed the entire direction of the shade, but then we wouldn't have been able to look at the ocean. Overall, glad I bought it. Kept us in the shade for sure, and light and easy to carry around. ... show more
