  • Great Skillet for What It's Worth
Size: 8 Inch
I purchased this about a month or two ago because I currently live in a hotel and wanted to start cooking more meals as opposed to always ordering out. The skillet cooks very well and most items that I make don't take a very long time to cook in this. I was able to fit a whole frozen skillet meal in here with no problem. I can cook up to a pound of ground beef, turkey, chicken, or pork, anything more than that and it doesn't completely fit into the skillet so keep it to a pound. I was even able to cook fried eggs and potatoes. Really love this skillet a lot and if you are looking for something energy efficient or you're just a single person wanting something to cook smaller meals then this is the perfect skillet and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great for elderly that wish to be independent
Size: 8 Inch
--------------- Updates: Nov 2017 - Still work great after 6 months. Mom loves them (got her two). Bought me one. So we have 3 now. March 2018 - All working great. Non-stick fully intact on all. We use almost daily. -------------- I needed an electric skillet that is lightweight and easy to manage. This one got the best reviews so it was the one I selected. I have owned many Nesco products over the years and this was a plus. It arrived in perfect condition. I inspected the interior coating closely under light and there were no flaws, bubbles, damage. The entire coating was smooth to the touch. I cleaned it and oiled it prior to using it. The problem with many electric skillets is uneven heating. They get hot zones closer to the heating element plug area. As it heated, I used a scanning thermometer to check temps. As expected, the area near the plug heated first but by the time the pan came to expected temps, the temps were fairly even all over the pan. For a smaller pan, I expected this to happen and was pleased. The egg test: I wiped the interior with vegetable oil them removed the majority with a soft paper towel. On low-med heat, fried eggs cooked exceptionally well. No sticking whatsoever. I was also able to make pan toast easily. This pan is great for an elderly parent. It isn't too heavy nor too big to clean. Most of the time, it can be wiped clean with a soft paper towel. The glass lid is also easy to manage/clean. In fact, using two of these instead on one heavier unit seems to be the best plan. A countertop oven has also been a great help. So far, this pan has worked great. ... show more

  • Perfect size
Size: 8 Inch
A perfect size for one or two people. And the perfect size for maintaining weight control. Using a big skillet, you're tempted to eat it all. With this little skillet, there's nothing extra. One serving. A bag of frozen veggies, a piece of fish or chicken, and you're there. It has the black lining which I tend to avoid but as long as you don't scratch it, you're okay. Use wood or plastic utinsels only. Rinse and wipe. Never use abraisive pads or cleaners. It gets plenty hot. Hotter than you'll ever need. Healthy food is prepared at lower temperatures. ... show more

  • Good while it lasted
Size: 8 Inch
Worked great for the 5 months I had it. Today, I went to cook again, and noticed the power light indicator was on...even though the dial was turned to the off position. And the pan was faintly warm to the touch. I unplugged it from the pan, and from the socket...but when I plug it back in to the electrical socket, the indicator light is still on. So now I have to unplug it to turn it off. Will try cooking again with it today, and if the temp control is not working at all now, will update this review to let you know about that as well. Update: changing to 4 stars (from 1): well, it seems to have fixed itself. I turned it to the On setting, to 275, to cook some eggs...which it did. And when I turned it to the off position, it stayed off this time. But, given this one time glitch, I don't trust leaving it plugged into the wall socket, so now I just unplug it after cooking...which is probably just a good habit to have anyway. ... show more

  • Love love LOVE this skillet!
Size: 8 Inch
I've recently become a widow and am having a hard time transitioning to cook for one. I also love a well prepared med rare steak but usually cook them on heavy cast iron skillets. With warm Temps, I didn't want to use my oven or stove to prepare a simple meal every day....so I bought this as an alternative, money saving appliance. Sure am glad I did! It's made well and the temp controls take some getting use to. If your making something without the lid on, there will be some grease spatter to deal with, so place it where it won't damage nearby objects or use a spatter screen. I've made chicken (large enough for 2 large thighs or one breast), pork chops, seafood, beef of various cuts as well as vegetable stir fry. Things cook pretty quickly in this little treasure so make sure you keep an eye on your food! Clean up is quick and easy but must be done by hand. DO NOT toss it in your dishwasher (duh....electric skillet and water???). It's small and compact and takes very little counter space. This product is excellent for widows, single people, college students, RVers and folks who travel a lot on business . Best part....I've already seen a decrease in my electric bill from not using my stove and oven. Great product especially after a short learning curve on how to use it! ... show more

  • Perfect size
Size: 8 Inch
Bought this for our boat and also cabin. Perfect size. Have made chili in it, burgers, grilled asparagus - can even boil water in it to make penne pasta. Great for reheating meatloaf or lasagna or whatever. Easy to clean. Dudable - going on five years now with the same skillet.
