Update 11/24/2020 A lady stopped me at the gas station this evening and asked me for a jump! She asked me to see if I could park next to her. I told her I had this thing and could just walk over. Super handy. I haven't charged it since I helped the last person. This car started right up, first try. I should probably charge it. This thing is definitely worth it! Update 9/16/2020 It's been in the car since I wrote my initial review and today I ran into someone who needed a jump at the hardware store. It was still at 100 percent and we got her car jumped on the first try! Perfect! Original review: So far so good. The unit comes with all the needed cables to jump a car and charge a device with a usb-c connection. It also comes with a quick charge 3.0 wall charger which is great for my cell phone. The flashlight works as a typical flashlight with the strobe options. It's pretty light weight for the battery life it provides. After being in the car for two trips in the summer heat, the battery life remained at 100 percent. It's also nice to have a battery backup for my devices. It is too soon to tell if it would actually jump a car. I just had to get a new battery after I was stranded so I plan to keep this with me. The first opportunity I get to test it jumping a car, I'll update this review. ... show more

So, OK, I realize this kind of thing has apparently been around for a while. Still, I had never bought one for our car, even though we drive out to very remote parks, where, if we needed a jump, it might not happen! Here's why you might want this particular one for your car: - Very ruggedly made (AFAICT, anyway) - Supports Qualcomm QC, so it will charge most phones very quickly. Comes with a QC wall charger, and it does seem like it recharges quickly using that wall charger. - has a 15v 10a output socket. I don't know what it's for, but I'm sure if you need it, you know. - good flashlight mode - built in LED with a couple of emergency flash modes for good measure - High current capacity. Although you probably could get away with a smaller battery, this means that you have a lot more options to use this for a long time to charge stuff and use the emergency flasher. The *only* negative thing I can say is that, even though it has a USB-c power output (doubles as the input for charging), it does NOT support USB-C power delivery, so you can't charge a laptop or whatever that needs PD mode. ... show more

    • Lightweight, super easy to start a car with
So for years I've kept a rather large lead-acid based jump pack in each of my family vehicles. Well, one of them finally died off the other day and I decided to modernize. Saw this, liked some other products from the same company that I bought so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's super light weight. Especially compared to the older lead acid jump packs. Has USB-C in addition to USB which is nice since my iPad has that as well as my android phone. So it can charge my stuff in a pinch. But the coolest thing is that it actually works as a jump pack! This tiny little thing that weighs a fraction of what my old style pack does had no issue jumping my daughters Sentra the other day after it had been sitting a few days with an old battery (and the door ajar leaving the light on it seems). Hooked the included jump start adapter to the car battery, plugged it into this pack, green light came on to show it was connected properly, pressed the boost button then turned the key. Started right up! Starter was barely ticking when I tried to start without it. Very impressed, going to buy another one to send with my daughter who's headed off to college in a couple months. ... show more

    • Battery holds up, and came in handy
I received this a few days ago and it looks and feels pretty well-built - as it should for its price point. Upon taking it out of the packaging I immediately went ahead and fully charged it. The instructions say that's important to do first before using it, so might as well. I also tested out the light and strobe light functions, which seem to work just fine. That said, I haven't yet had to use this to actually jumpstart a car battery. So while everything seems good for now, I'll be sure to update this review if/when I jumpstart a car, or otherwise have any issues going forward. I've had positive experiences with the Nekteck brand before on other products, so I'm fairly optimistic that this should hold up, but we'll see. Edit 3/10/2021: A couple weeks ago I accidentally left the lights on too long and killed the battery in my car. I hadn't recharged this battery jumpstart since I'd first got it, and it had sat in the trunk of my car since then in both hot and freezing weather. That said, I got it out and it perfectly jump started my car - it used about 25% of the charge to do so, so I didn't even need to recharge it afterwards.     • Extremely serious improvement from past jump packs
As a contractor, we have always used jump-packs on all sorts of equipment from fullsize pickup trucks and tractors to smaller mowers and 4x4s. We used to have older lead style packs that were much much larger and heavier than these Nekteck's, but they only seemed to last for a few jumps at the very most. This Nekteck is amazing, we used it to jump the various equipment (including fullsize pickup trucks) at least 40 times on its initial charge, and only drained the charge on the Nekteck when our fullsize dumptrailer's large battery unexpectedly drained, and we successfully worked the trailer's motor off the Nekteck several times (this is after the 40+ other jumps from the pack, on the initial charge). This pack is amazing, and for the price it is an incredible value, and it has a terrific size and weight compared to the older style. I did not expect something of the Nekteck's size and weight to do what it does, but it has been a complete surprise and handled everything with ease. I bought a second one for another location that the first one is not at. Highly recommend for residential or commercial use. ... show more
