  • Okay for an entry level air rifle!
I bought this for a Crosman 1077 CO2 air rifle I plan to procure. I think it will work out fine except for the fact that this scope does not have a 1" inch tube. Therefore you are stuck using the provided scope rings. I had planned to put a pair of Redfield see-thru mounts that attach to a dovetail mount. Oh well, there's nothing wrong with using the scope full time. Another thing that I wanted to say to all the guys who ripped this little scope in their reviews is that this scope is certainly no frills but it is okay for entry level bb/pellet guns which I really think was the target demographic IMHO. True it's inadequate for more powerful pellet rifles but it also is only $10.99! This is a step up from my Crosman Targetfinder scope that I have on my pump air rifle even though the Targetfinder is a few bucks more I think. Anyway, if you don't expect too much out of this scope and you install it on an entry level airgun then I think you'll be okay with it. Enough said. I would like to add one more thing. I tried to mount a full sized scope on my 1377 and it actually loosened the barrel from the shear weight of the scope. I had to take the gun back. I reordered a 1322 and I plan to use this Ncstar scope on it using two Crosman dovetail mounts because I don't want to spend money upgrading to a steel breach. I think Crosman should do that but since they haven't this lightweight scope will do the trick I think. ... show more

  • Eh, what I order but didn't work for what I wanted to use it for........
Pro's: Easy to mount, adjust, comes with cleaning cloths. Con's: This scope does not handle any kind of recoil, says rated for all air guns and .22 rifles. The recoil from my gamo break barrel pellet rifle (this is spring rifle), produces to much recoil and no matter how much I tighten or where I mount it on the rail (yes it has proper rail) the dove tail mount cant handle even a single shot without scout unmounting itself with a fall to the ground. All in all seems like a good scope for the price, but unless you have a cheap low low low power air rifle look for something that can handle a bit of recoil. In defense of the product my air rifle will bruise just about anyone after a couple dozen shots, has about 2x the recoil of any .22 I have shot so I should have had an idea it wouldnt work on my rifle but none the less i tried and now I know. AGAIN ONLY USE FOR EXTREMELY LIGHT RECOIL AIR GUNS OR .22 RIFLES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ... show more

  • Not 4x, closer to 3x
The scope comes with dovetail mounts so sorry airsoft people! I got this scope for a crosman pumpmaster 760. First thing I noticed when comparing it to a inexpensive 4x15 crosman targetfinder scope is that this scope was much less magnified then the targetfinder. Comparing it a variable magnification Leapers scope I was able to determine that the scope is closer to 2.75-3x. At first I was disappointed but the 3x magnification and more compact size compared to the targetfinder make it perfect for bb/pellet pistols with a dovetail mounts. Also the mounting method is a bit unusual. You have to slide the slope directly onto the rails and into place rather, as there are not two "clamp clasps" that you tighten the scope down on but rather the both sides of the mount are one solid piece of metal that you "vice" together with a screw to keep it in place. Now about the reticule. The scope has a standard fine crosshair, not a duplex crosshair (thicker crosshair lines away from the center for contrast, and fine crosshairs at the center) like the targetfinder, or mil-dot. The inclusions of a cheap lens cleaning cloth was a nice add in for a cheap scope like this, but lints terribly so I wouldn't use it to clean the lenses of scopes. It makes a great non-abrasive oiling cloth for pellet guns though. For $10 its worth the price but I choose the targetfinder (also $10) for my gun but kept this scope and now use it with my inexpensive bb pistol, which is where it really excels best. It may be 5mm larger aperture then the targetfinder and more compact, but the targetfinder has other features which made it better for an inexpensive bb/pellet gun like the pumpmaster. This scope is more suitable for pistols with dovetail top mounts. ... show more

I restarted an old BB gun that was all pitted with a broken v sight ramp was going to return but finally was able to mount on crossman. 760. It's. It works. Sight adjustments work Bought because the.v sight broke Would I buy again. No. ... show more

  • It is what it is.
This is not a bad scope, but it isn't a great scope either. How well this scope performs depends on what you're looking for. DO NOT buy IF: -You have a gun with recoil. It simply can't handle it. It can take a few shots(about 15-25 on my Crosman Phantom)until it loosens up and all the time you spent zeroing it in turns to dust. -You're looking for long range. This is not a long-range scope by any means, I'm sure you figured that out yourself from the specs listed in the product description. It says 'compact' for a reason. Visibility is clear, but limited. If anything, it almost makes objects look farther away than they really are. But that could just be me. -You're looking for a scope to hunt with. You're better off with iron sights. If you're looking for a scope to hunt with, find one with a larger diameter, you'll need all the visibility you can get. Buy if: -You want a cheap and easy-to-install scope. As I said above, do not buy this product if your gun recoils. However, this scope is a great fit for an air rifle such as the Daisy 880 (any rifle that you have to pump air in order to fire ammo.) It's great for plinking with this scope, that's about it. ... show more
