  • Do bioflavinoids cure tinnitus?
Size: 250 Count (Pack of 1)
Brief review: Good product, no complaints. Not sure that it's any better (or worse) than any other Vitamin C. Long Story: A few months ago I started having trouble with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) as well as dizziness, mild vertigo, and disequilibrium. I read several places that taking Citrus Bioflavonoids was thought to minimize or cure tinnitus so I bought Nature's Way Vitamin C 500 with Bioflavonoids (250 Capsules) from Amazon.com thinking it couldn't hurt to try. I took anywhere from 500mg to 3000mg per day (spaced out throughout the day) of this product and it never had any impact on my tinnitus. And there's a good reason for that. I eventually discovered that my tinnitus, as well as dizziness/vertigo/disequilibrium, was actually caused by muscle tension in the neck and jaw areas. I'm a male in my 30's and, as a computer programmer, I spend a lot of time sitting at a computer, often with poor posture, sometimes stressed out and clenching my teeth. I'm currently seeking a variety of treatment (mostly body work) for my muscle tension and it's underlying causes and I can say that my tinnitus, dizziness, and muscle tension have been very slowly lessening. It's my observation that most doctors do not come anywhere close to accurately diagnosing the cause of tinnitus, maybe because medical science has yet to uncover (or accurately describe) all the underlying causes for tinnitus. Because of this, there is lots of confusion when it comes to treating tinnitus (it's generally untreated or treated with depression/anxiety meds). I believe there might be a small group of tinnitus sufferers who will find that citrus bioflavonoids do improve or "cure" their symptoms. For this group, judging by some of the information I've read, you are probably better off looking for a lemon bioflavonoid complex supplement. I'm personally of the opinion that citrus bioflavonoids cannot cure or even positively impact your tinnitus if the underlying cause is muscle tension caused or exacerbated by TMJ, bone or structure misalignment, injuries (neck, ligament, TMJ, etc), poor posture, etc. If you fit into this group, you should consider finding a really good chiropractor and massage therapist. You would also likely benefit from getting more and or better sleep as well as doing activities that lower stress and tension levels and promote calmness. For example, yoga, body movement classes/therapy, swimming, brisk walks, etc. If your TMJ problems are bad enough consider seeing a dentist or other body workers that specialize in TMJ problems. Resolving any neck problems should also be a priority and may require you to try several different types of therapy to find the one that works for you, or may even require more of a shotgun approach. I'm almost sure that I read some reviews here when I purchased this product from others who had tried it in hopes it would help them with tinnitus. The interesting thing is that I cannot find any of those reviews. I think Amazon has a problem where reviews sometimes get mixed up and linked to the wrong item or else they simply disappear into oblivion. I've noticed this problem for maybe a year or two already. ... show more

Me agradó el haber recibido un suplemento indispensable para la absorción adecuada del hierro, pues la vitamina C sin flavonoides sólo es ácido cítrico que no garantiza la metabolizacion molecular del hierro

No surprises with the product or delivery. Rainy days made the delivery difficult but care was taken to get it close to the overhang where it would remain protected! Thank you!
