it is great for the price. my first one made a dark yellow orange patch in the projection from the LCD getting too warm in that spot as a result of cooling the right side. during inspection, I noticed a connection not used for an extra fan. so I bought another one of these and installed one of the squirrel cage fans from the failed unit right on the intake slots aimed towards the speakers and intakw for the air cooling of the LCD. the airflow is much better now and the unit keep overall cooler. the LCD performance is much better as well. ... show more

    • Great value projector
I purchased this projector to try out as an outdoor movie night option. I wanted to try to maximize the cost/value, but I was aware this may lead to some compromises. Pros: Picture quality is good/bright Decent connections - micro SD option is nice when Wifi not available Comes with a carrying case Cons: Fan could be annoying in smaller settings Power brick gets warm I purchased this due to the native 1080p resolution and that it came with a carrying case. Most cheaper projectors do not come with the case and that adds $15-$20. It came well packaged. Instructions were pretty straightforward. Brightness is good and slightly better for this price point. It is not going to show up well in a brightly lit room but with low lighting it shows up clearly. In a dark room it is excellent. Picture quality is good. The foot stand helps with aim but makes adjusting keystone a bit difficult - better to align it head on in my opinion. Hook ups all worked fine. Sound was as expected (basically like a TV). I used a FireTV stick with HDMI and it worked fine. I could not get the IR function via Fire controller to work but really did not care. As many have mentioned, it does have a fan. It would be nice if it were quieter - reminds me of older desktops. This was not a deal breaker for me. The power brick also gets pretty warm (more than I expected). Time will tell if it wears out. Overall, decent projector for the price. Pretty basic but a decent value. ... show more

I purchased this projector in Nov 2022. It was as working very nicely for a couple of months. However, it then started to develop a brown smudge that just became more and more noticeable. Now, less than 6 months after purchase, the smudge takes up about half the picture and it is getting significantly darker. I suspect that even though it is mounted on a tripod and should be well ventilated, that the projector is probably over-heating. ... show more

Pretty bright but picture is still washed out if there’s light. That’s all projectors though so not a knock on this one. A little difficult to get the picture clear on all parts, if projector is not center/center and you angle the picture with the knob, either the top is clear and the bottom is blurry or visa versa. Kind of need to keep the screen tilt to a minimum to get full clear picture. It has started making a loud noise when it runs (after a month or two of use) but it’s usually at startup and then goes away. Not sure what that’s about but, for the price, solid projector. I had very low expectations for a $50 projector, but this looks great. It's very bright, and 1080p streaming looks very crisp and clear. I don't have a TV at the moment, so I wanted to try using a cheap projector until I found a proper TV that I wanted to spend more money on. This projector is actually so good that I don't foresee myself buying a real TV for a while, because I'm perfectly happy with this as a solution. I've even enjoyed gaming on it. The built in speakers are fine, but I find that they sound quite bad when you turn them up past like 50% of the way it's able to go. I've never actually needed to go higher than that, and I imagine if you needed to turn it up that loud to fill a large room you'd probably have an external speaker system to use anyway, but I think it's worth mentioning. I used the 120 inch projector screen that was bundled with it using the digital coupon, which I found to be way too large. Not really a problem, just seemed like overkill for a majority of home setups. ... show more
