This is probably more of an Amazon issue, but when I purchased the Shop Fox D4806 1"x8" post, the "frequently bought together" suggested the NAGU 4" and 6" tool rests. I purchased them and they do not fit the M12 x1.75 thread size that is the Shop Fox Post thread. It is difficult to find anyone selling a 4" toolrest for that thread size. Shop Fox sells a 6" only for it. The option would be to cut a 6" down to a 4". These toolrests are definitely light duty, but for the size, they most likely would do the job. This is a tough review to write, because I really tried to like this tool rest. The overall Nagu system is pretty cool, I have almost all of the components, and I really enjoy them. This extended tool rest is good sometimes and in certain situations. If I am turning fresh cut greenwood, or very soft pine/cedar etc I have no issues. When I try to go to applewood/mahogany/maple, etc the outside ends of this toolrest chatters a bit from the vibrations of my (carbide) tools cutting the wood. It seems like it needs just a bit more supportive metal to stop this vibration. I use carbide cutters for my rough work and gouges for fine work (cuts down on sharpening) so it might just be the type of cutting action that carbides do. I have not used this toolrest with any of my gouges yet, so I cannot comment on that. I hope this review helps you, it is a tough call for me to recommend it. ... show more
