This gets surprisingly good volume, and has survived the drop test multiple times! It does take D batteries, which are not included and are pretty pricy. It seems to be louder when you record and then play it back . But the regular microphone is loud too you just have to put it close to your mouth. Siren works too and volume buttons 👍

Really sad this does not work. It only records for a few seconds for you to play, you can't make announcements on it (or at least mine couldn't). I reached out the company and no reply.
