Description

This My Arcade Micro Player features the classic game by DATA EAST, BURGERTIME. Armed with only a pepper shaker, Peter Pepper stepped into the arcade and into our hearts in 1982. Its highly addictive game play, unusual characters, and comedic story-line made Burger Time an arcade classic. A game that's still challenging, exceedingly fun, and a shining reminder of the family friendly vibe and excitement that defined the early days of video games. My Arcade Micro Players are 6.75" mini retro arcade machines that are licensed and collectible. They feature original artwork on the cabinet along with a 2.75" full color back-lit display and removable joystick. Micro Players are awesome for fans of retro games who love to play, collect, or display classic games

  • Nice if you don't own the older micros this collects.
Edition: Data East
I understand if you own all the other older Data East micro players you may not care for this unit. But there are games like B-Wings and Side Pocket that aren't on dedicated micro players. So, there is something new here. If you were thinking of getting one of the older DE players, this one has them all in one. Seems like a no brainer. (These are all the NES version of the games, BTW) As for the "Bonus" games, they mostly suck, but not as bad as other cheap units I've seen. They seem to have a little more polish. Title screens, pretty much everything is "playable". Curly Monkey 1 and 2 are fun, actually. If you ever had any of the older My Arcade/Gream Gear players, you've seen these 300 games before. So, you may find it fun that they got included in this form factor. Display wise, its neato. It's bright purple and the same size as the older ones. It has a USB C power port now. It feels like the same buttons and d-pad/joystick to me. At any rate, it look nice with the other models. If you're looking for more Data East games and the Arcade versions of those games, they do sell a Data East Mini arcade that you might like instead. As long as you know what you're getting, this DE micro player isn't a bad unit to own. ... show more

  • Perfect little gift
Edition: Burgertime
Gave this to our grandson. He live video games but never experienced the arcade era of gaming. So we gifted him a retro game from our childhood and he loved it. Brought back some great memories and fun times sharing this nostalgic game with him. Get on or build your own mini arcade. It’s fun!!

  • Will Run on Batteries!!
Edition: Burgertime
This Game is what it is. Small mini arcade. Controls are fine graphics are fine sounds are fine. It's cute nothing more. If your buying because you like Burgertime and this is cute to have/play on your desk you will get exactly what you wanted. This will run on Batteries. I was a little disappointed at first reading these reviews only to open my unit up place some brand new batteries in and have nothing happen like others were saying. I experimented and found this to solidly work. I opened the battery cover and while pressing the on off button over and over I used my other hand to roll the four batteries up and down. After approx 10 seconds and let's say ten clicks of the on off at the same time the unit came alive. Ever since then the unit works fine with just the batteries. Not sure why but it works perfectly fine now. Turns off and turns on the way it should.. hope this helped you all!! ... show more

  • Not exactly what i wanted
Edition: Data East
Ok this little thing it pretty cool and yes, the other games outside of the first 8 are useless... my issue is that I mainly got this because of Heavy Barrel and for some reason, which I cant imagine, it doesn't have the cool audio like the real game did! Where is the HEAVY BARREL! voice??? Come on, in 2023 I think you could add the little voice that the real game has. ... show more

  • First and replacement both defective, so I fixed it myself.
Edition: Burgertime
The first one was a Christmas gift and it arrived defective. Would not run from its batteries but would run from the USB power. I returned it for a replacement. That replacement took weeks to arrive and was also defective with the same issue. Instead of waiting more weeks for another replacement which likely also has the same issue, I decided to investigate and repair it. The trouble is that there's a manufacturing detect defect in the battery holder. The last positive contact is not tall enough to touch the battery from the plastic housing it's placed in. If you really want to fix it instead of send it back, you need to gently pry something under that and bend it so that it can reach the contact on the bottom battery. You shouldn't have to open the well built case to do this but I had to in order to find the problem. Hopefully you don't have to fix it or send it back, but that's what's going on with these units and it seems to be consistent. If you do decide to return it, get a refund instead of a replacement. If, for some reason you decide to order another one of these, it will likely come a lot faster than if you just ask for a replacement straight away. Those seem to be a low priority in my experience. Good luck. It's a fun game if you can get it to work. ... show more
