I'm on a mission to bulk up and add mass to my physique and was searching for a mass gainer that wasn't made from milk/dairy by products because I have dairy allergies. Vegan mass gainers aren't really a thing (which is weird because if they make vegan protein powder, then surely someone can make a proper vegan mass gainer) but I digress. And then I remembered that MuscleMeds exists and that they use beef protein instead of whey, soy, quinoa, or pea powder. Gave this a try and it's a lot better tasting than I thought it would be. I imagined it would smell like a beef processing plant but in actuality, it has a very faint beef smell. It mostly has a chocolate/coffee like aroma and taste. Almost like Orgain vegan protein powder. It doesn't make me nauseous or feel weird. I use it sparingly and only spilt 1 serving into 2 shakes a day. So 4 scoops total for 50g of protein. Anything more than that could cause an upset stomach because it's also loaded in carbohydrates (which contain sugar, so it's not a completely sugar free product). I saw someone mention in another review that they mix 6-8 scoops with milk and water and it gave them diarrhea. That's probably why. The powder itself is a fine grain, but when you mix it with water it gets sticky and clumpy. A shaker cup alone will not adequately mix this up and neither will using a spoon. The best method to get a smooth shake is by using a blender. I have a little Blendjet that I use and it does the trick. Lastly, I do believe that this product has helped me put on mass. I look bulkier but not fat, either. With a regular workout schedule, this should help you put on size. ... show more

After reading some of these comments, I was reluctant to order this. Which I’m happy I have so far. I just received my order, made a shake, 4 scoops, fill with water, blended together with ice. Poured into a 32oz shaker bottle & honestly y’all, the taste really isn’t bad. There’s other comments about the beef taste, or just tasting off. I got the chocolate flavor & can’t taste anything bad.. tastes like a protein shake, but so far, better taste than the comments lead to believe. I’m 33, 165lbs, ectomorph, I’ve competed in men’s physique body building, have had high placements & worked out all my life as an athlete. With all of this said, I’ve tried many brands. But so far this one is good. Over the course of the next 3-4 weeks I’ll give an update on my comment if need be. So far though, it’s good. I got this due to most proteins going straight thru me, meaning, sitting on the toilet after 30 min of consuming & blasting off. So far no feeling of that, I believe it’s due to this formula being lactose free (for me). Hope this helps UPDATE 1-20-23: It’s now been a solid week that I’ve been using this protein, I must say, I surprisingly stand by my original (above) comment. When buying supplements it’s very important for anyone to purchase directly from the company rather than an affiliate seller, this way the formulations are exactly what the company says. That being said, I don’t find myself on the toilet 30 minutes after, I waited 2 days before working out & taking this shake 2x per day, I noticed a HUGE difference in my pump within the first 10 minutes of warm up. I got so excited I just kept going till I couldn’t any longer. I wouldn’t recommend taking 4 scoops before bed, I’ve noticed that it’s best to keep your body moving a bit so your body can release the gas. I had lots of gas cramps during my sleep. Also instead of 4 scoops I’ve been using 3 scoops with some ice & water. 4 scoops won’t allow you to have a smooth consistency, it’s VERY thick, but 3 is nice. Taste is still great. This product overall is great, but it is so micronized that it floats and flies everywhere, and foams a lot when making a shake in a blender. Even foams a decent amount in a regular shaker bottle, but at the same time doesn't mix very well either somehow. If you put it in a blender be sure not to fill liquid to the typical fill line or it will explode. Also I found better mixing results in a shaker bottle if you shake it vigorously, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes and shake vigorously again. If not, after the initial shake there is still a decent amount of unmixed powder and chunks. ... show more
