I bought this product because my 71 year old hands don't work with regular pruners so well. I used it over the winter to prune some fruit trees and it worked great! I could work all day with this thing. Just before leaving for a month away from Vermont in early April, I somehow misplaced the pruner and couldn't find it no matter where I looked. I figured it must have fallen out of my cart or something. When I returned from the trip, I kept looking for it but to no avail and continued looking all summer on the off chance that I would remember where I put it. Last week, mid August, I did some weed whacking around one of my wood piles and when I looked down, there it was! I picked it up, cleaned it off and pushed the start button not expecting anything. The light went on, I pulled the trigger and it worked!! The battery still had a charge. Unbelievable! It had been laying outdoors through rain, snow, mud and heat for nearly 5 months. I know that you can pay more for this type of tool but I can't believe that you would find anything more durable. Edit 12/22 Well, good while they lasted. Battery ran down, put it on the charger, reattached to pruner and it lasted a short while. Now the pruners will no turn on. Likely the switch is bad. Guess I'll spend more on the next pair I buy but it won't be these ... show more

I'm sorry to say this to the makers but, if I wasn't part of this program I would likely have never known something like this existed. Sadly, the average Joe's that used to make up our middle-class, only work toward survival these days. Even though I bust my butt 40-70 hours a week, I would have to finance something like this! I know that sounds terrible, and I'm not complaining or anything. I'm just saying how it is. But anyway, aside from that, this company needs an editor really bad... Especially in the area where it says this, "The electric pruning shears is powered by a brushed motor which prolong life span and power saving. No need to exchange carbon brush." Well, from everything I've ever read, it's the BRUSHLESS motors that prolong life span and power saving. And BRUSHLESS motors are the ones without a need to exchange carbon brush. Which is why they call them, "brushless," right!? And yeah, that could be an honest mistake, but it's not the kind of mistake anyone likes to see from someone asking for $249.99 from them. The main issue I had with this though, is that the instructions say that you're supposed to put the oil in it at the start and end of every workday that it's used. The instructions even show where the oil is supposed to be provided in the case and they even say the oil IS INCLUDED in the case. However, if you look closely in the listing, they make it very clear that the oil is NOT INCLUDED. Well, it still works nicely and all, but like with everything these days, it's just a nightmare trying to pick something out... "This other one comes with an extra set of blades and can cut slightly bigger branches, but comes with one battery that doesn't last as long." "This other one comes with oil, it can open 0.02 mm more, and it's two batteries can last a little longer. But it doesn't have the LED readout or the SK5 high quality carbon steel high strength blade!" Lol, I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Generally, it all comes down to what exactly you're looking for, and how long you're willing to look for it. It's safe to say though, that when something costs this much, you are going to get a nice quality product. And since you're ordering through Amazon, there's little to worry about, because if there's an issue with it, they always seem to take care of it rather quickly. Pros: 1. Heavy (solid tank like build) 2. Easily cuts through 1 inch tree branches 3. Battery chargers charges both battieres at once 4. Battery also acts as a battery pack for USB devices (has built in USB plug in battery) 5. Cuts pruning time of Grape Myrtles by 50-75% Cons: - You might cut too much off because it is so fun to use - Expensive - Very easy to use and surprised people wont lose a finger by accidently chearing it off. Overall: This is a splurge item until you actually use it. It is a game changer of trimming tree branches under 1 inch. Measure thickness of 1 Inch and you will majority of branches are 1 inch or less. It cuts through them like butter. There is a reason by Dewalt or other companies dont have this tool: because it is HARD to make. Talked with a tool designer (neighbor) whose company tried to design one of these but couldnt keep the price down due to the complexities and quality components you need to make it work well. Of course if there was a competitor with a price point much cheaper and performed the same I would deduct a star, but once you use this you can feel the build quality and witness how easy it to cut through. The battery lasts a long time, and you can use it to charge your phone if you have your cable (USB not USB-C). If you prune a lot or have lots of low hanging trees, this is a splurge I can highly recommend. If you hardly cut anything bigger than 0.5 inch than this might not be the splurge you are looking for. ... show more

These Munskine Pruning Shears are extremely well built. They are a solid product for sure. They work great and can easily cut branches up to 1in. We have an acre lot so there is always a tree, rose bush, or bush that needs trimming. Two batteries are included as well as a sturdy case. They also have an LCD display that details battery percentage and number of cuts. These are premium pruning shears and at the price point, they should be.
