  • Beautiful... except one major flaw *updated review*
I purchased this mini banjo after buying the Dean Backwoods Mini Banjo, which I love, so that I could have another mini with a resonator. I really hate giving bad reviews, but this flaw broke my heart as I was really looking forward to having this one. As I was unwrapping the packing material I noticed that the fretboard was pulling away from the neck. There doesn't appear to be any glue applied in the top 3 to 4 inches of the neck/fretboard. I almost kept it, as it could be a rather easy fix, but assumed I would be offered a replacement. Alas, I was not. Refund only. Otherwise, this looks to be a beautiful mini banjo. I did not attempt to set it up or play it to verify it's fine points. Returned due to a slight factory defect, probably fixable, but I'd hate to find out the hard way that it wasn't. *Update*!!! Mulucky contacted me about a replacement which arrived quickly and in perfect condition. With the included measuring piece and tuner, it was set-up and ready to play in just a couple of minutes. A few more minutes of dis-assembly to tighten the head and add relief to the neck, (tools also included for that,) and it was perfect. It has a very bright sound, good volume and chords have a sweet ring much like an autoharp. I am very pleased this time around! Thanks, Mulucky! ... show more

  • Outstanding Banjo! Outstanding Value!
My husband and I purchased this banjo for our adult son, who has autism and is musically gifted, as a birthday present. We presented him with the banjo during a recent therapeutic leave visit from his residential home where he lives with three other men with autism. There are no words to describe the pure joy and delight that Adam has already received from this gift. While he was visiting us, he played non-stop some days for as much as two hours at a time! Music brings him much joy. We noticed as soon as we unpacked the banjo that there is a hairline crack which was likely caused during shipping and handling through the shipping courier. Outside of that, the banjo and all of its accessories are an outstanding value. ... show more

  • Great beginner banjolele
Color: BU803
Gave myself this banjolele for Christmas 2020. Have been playing a soprano uke for 10+ years and was ready something new. Good quality, good tone, and the accessories that came with it are useful, especially the strap and tuner. Just played in a group with 3 acoustic guitars, a blues harmonica, a flute and many singers and it wasn't too loud (it didn't stick out like a hippo at a wedding). Just know when you play with others it's a bit louder than a regular soprano/concert uke, so maybe only strum every other to be a good bandmate. I filed off the sharp edges on the frets and the strings have settled in nicely and are holding their tune. Great for a beginner or intermediate player. ... show more

  • Awesome for the price, small flaws
The media could not be loaded. For the price, you can’t beat it. The craftsmanship is pretty decent for being so cheap, however, there are some set-up issues. For one, the bridge placement template is not accurate. I had to adjust the bridge almost an inch back to get the intonation somewhat close. Also, there is some super annoying string buzz. I will have to adjust the truss rod to see if that helps. You can hear it in the video. Otherwise, great value. Perfect for on the go. UPDATE: I tuned it in the recommended open C tuning and that seemed to take care of the intonation issues. I originally tuned it in open G, and the instrument is not designed for that. This was my mistake. Still slight string buzz but I can deal with it. ... show more

  • Defective X's 2
I bought this Mulucky travel banjo about a month ago. It arrived in a timely manner and initially looked awesome. When shipped, the bridge isn't installed and the purchaser has to do it themselves which isn"t a big deal. The strings are installed but loose which allowed easy installation of the bridge (but at least they're there and ready to tune). Started putting things together and then I found that the top 3 to 4 inches of the fingerboard was separated from the neck. So, I repackaged it up and sent it back as defective and ordered a replacement. The replacement arrived in a timely manner and I was excited to get the banjo up and running. Before doing anything, I did a good inspection. This banjo had the exact same defect as the first banjo in that the fretboard was separated from the neck. I could see that there had been glue applied to the neck area but apparently their clamping method failed. Additionally, I found a 1.5 inch split in the wooden neck that was very obvious. So I repackaged this banjo up and sent it back as defective and just got my money back. Two out of two fails tells me I need to look elsewhere for a travel banjo. I cannot recommend this banjo to anyone because of obvious quality issues, which is too bad because ultimately, this was a really nice looking banjo. Mulucky obviously does not have any, or has a very poor type of quality control process in place to minimize defective product from being shipped to customers. As stated above, I ordered 2 and both had major failures/defects. I'm not going to try a third time. I figure that if I'm finding these type is major defects right out of the box, what other defects didn"t I see. Time to look elsewhere for another company that makes travel banjo's that has some pride in their product. ... show more

  • Worth every penny and more!!!!!!
Color: BU806
it is crazy how nice this banjolele is! The quality of the wood and hardware and finishes are so impressive and I can't believe the price! It was missing the stencil that shows you where to put the bridge but I checked on google and found you measure from the nut to the 12th fret and then place bridge the same distance from the 12th fret on the drum/head. Mine measured 7 1/2". The sound is so nice and it even came with a pick up!!!! The strap is made for two buttons and there is only one on this banjolele so I don't know how to attach it but I don't need it anyway and I can use it on one of my other ukeleles! Worth the money and then some! ... show more

  • Very good quality parlor banjo!
Very nice banjo. One been playing for about 9 years and this is the only one I pick up anymore. The short scale is comfy and the banjo still rings loud!
