I bought this to play in a Dixieland band that needed a banjo but was willing to settle for a banjolele. It plays pretty loud with the back on and is easy to play. I oedered the banjolele kit. The kit description is: The kit description in Amazon says: “Package including: 1 x 26" Banjolele 1 x Gig Bag 1 x Strap 1 x String 3 x Picks 1 x Tuner 1 x Piezo Pickup”. Missing parts are the strap, picks, and piezo pickup. Also, no battery for the tuner. The quality of the instrument is very good in general, but there are a couple of not ideal issues. The ends of the frets are sharp and need light filing. The strings are not holding tune very well so far. Perhaps the strings will stabilize better after use and a few retunes? I emailed Kmise customer Service regarding the missing parts and will update based on their response. Overall, this is a high value banjolele and kit…. If all the parts show up. Update: i sent two emails to Kmise customer support and had a chat session with Amazon support. Zero response from Kmise. I very much like the banjolele, but if there is a problem with the product or your order, Kmise support seems non existent. So 5 starts for the product and zero stars for support. Update #2: Kmise finally reponded after Amazon intervention. Kmise reports the missing items have shipped to me. ... show more

Great instrument. Good weight and construction, and holds tune even fresh out the box. The kit comes with extra strings, picks, a tuner, and a fun little strap, and case. I took the back off to get a slightly different sound twangier sound than by default. I've always loved the bluegrass and old timey sound of traditional Irish music too, and I'm not getting any younger, so I've been working on learning ukulele and 5 string banjo. Definitely recommend for beginners looking for a different sound too. I'm happy to say that this is the first instrument I can now play a full song on without tabs or references - People are Strange by the Doors. ... show more

OK, I did not NEED another ukulele, most especially not a banjo ukulele. But I admit to suffering from what a friend calls "ukulele acquisition syndrome". When I read the professional reviews for this banjolele, I really wanted it. Then I found the great price on Amazon, and I was hooked. I have been playing my Kmise almost daily in the weeks since it arrived. It is as easy to play as my best ukes, and it sounds great on my folk repertoire, including, especially, the sea shanties that my uke club loves. (I must admit that I return to my regular ukes for romantic songs and many show tunes.) ... show more

I purchased this banjo as ‘used-like new,’ and it was described as including a tuner, picks, strap, spare springs, and other accessories. Only the banjo, tuner, and case arrived in the package—extremely annoying! I followed amazon’s instructions in case of problems and emailed the selling company Kmise’s customer service asking for help, but they never replied. The banjo itself is of reasonably good quality and it would be hard for me to replace it in time for my needs, so I have decided not to return it. Since I didn’t receive all the promised items, though, the value of this purchase was significantly less than expected. Worst of all, the company is non-responsive about problems! I wish I could leave a good review since the banjo itself is a solid value for a beginner instrument, but because of the issues with fulfillment and customer service, I can’t recommend purchasing this banjo or any other instruments from this company. ... show more
