  • This is the only bag you will ever need!
Size: Without Bottom D-Ring Color: Black
My bag came in about 5 days after ordering, which was nice. I was too excited to use it. This bag comes unfilled, as it says in the description, so you save a lot of money. It's awesome that Outslayer provides instructions in the package on how to fill the bag and what to use. As you can see, once you hang it up in your home gym, it's a beauty! Filling it is easier than you think. The basic process is as follows: 1. Gather filling materials and mix them together. Ensure there are no sharp objects inside. 2. Fill the bag to about 1/6th with material, then push it down. 3. Repeat the process until the bag is filled. 4. Place a weight on the bag overnight and then fill that last bit of space until the bag is full. The whole process is simple and straightforward but tiring. The bag is much taller than I am (5'9''), so it took me around 3 hours to gather old filling materials and fill it up in my garage! I used 1 roll of insulation for the bottom portion of the bag, then old shredded cloth, t-shirts, bed sheets and towels/rags for the rest. Try to fill it evenly as you can so that there aren't any lumps. I am not 100% sure if that matters though because it all compresses into the bag either way. I also placed about 6 sand-filled 1-gallon ziplock bags within the filling to add weight. Once that's done and you have a place to mount it, it's go time! Optional: I would also recommend getting a heavy bag hardware saver kit to reduce wear and tear on the straps and chains. A heavy bag spring almost completely reduces the shock running through the straps, chains, and the house from your strikes. Do your hardware and your family a favor! I cannot reliably comment on durability yet, as I've only been using it 3-4 days per week for about 1 month. The straps are nice and thick, the seams are well sewn, and the material is of excellent quality. I take care to wipe down the bag at least once a week and it still looks almost brand new. My workouts feel much more intense compared to my Everlast 100 lb. bag (the exact same price as this one when I got it). This bag is just tough enough to feel the impact, but not so hard that it hurts to punch it. If you're a beginner in kickboxing or Muay Thai, it'll hurt at first, but this is also perfect for building up your shin toughness and practicing kicking technique. The middle of the bag is softer, so start there and move down the bag as you get more advanced. Apologies for the long review. If I didn't express it well enough, I absolutely love this heavy bag! It is so much fun to box and kick it! If you have kids, why not let them grow up with this one? You have the freedom to make it as soft/tough or light/heavy as you want. Whatever it is you choose to do, whether it's just cardio kickboxing, heavy bag work, or Muay Thai, this one provides everything you will ever need on your martial arts journey! ... show more

  • Good quality at good price if you don't mind filling it on your own
Size: Without Bottom D-Ring Color: Black
Arrived earlier than expected and fits just right in my office/workout room. Material seems to be high quality. I went with this unfilled Outslayer bag rather than other cheaper bags assuming it would live up to its reputation of quality materials and durability and so far I'm not disappointed. The vinyl, straps, stitching and D-rings appear to be high quality both inside and out. I was a little concerned about filling the bag, but in the end am happy I made the choice to save some money and get an unfilled bag. In my case I had a lot of old clothing laying around I needed to clear out as well as some old blankets, comforters and quilts. It takes a lot of material to fill, so if you don't have a similar amount of filling easily available you'll need to get some or follow the suggestions in other reviews. The bag comes with a list of ideas of easy to aquire filling materials, too. I filled my bag with old clothing, sheets and blankets. I removed all the buttons and zippers from the clothing and used a knife to cut the larger items into smaller strips to avoid odd bulges or soft spots in the bag once it was packed down. While filling the bag I gave up on using a long broom handle to pack the material down and just stuck my foot down in the bag every little bit to compress the packing material. This got more difficult the more full the bag got, but when it got taller it was easier to reach in and compress it by hand. I don't want more than the weight of the fabric, the bag's already 6ft tall, so compressing the way I did created a consistent striking surface that is plenty firm and has plenty of inertia without being too heavy for my stand. I'm using my selec-tec weights as counter balance and it stays put just fine. I'm assuming I might need to add some fill material as it all settles over time. Overall I'm pleased. ... show more

  • Great bag...the best way to fill it imo.
Size: Without Bottom D-Ring Color: Black
This bag is awesome and I am going to tell you the best way to fill it. I have tried the carpet roll...cut up sheets with sand bags etc. Don't waste your time. The bag came out lumpy and had hard spots every time. Here is what worked for me. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or wherever and get the following; 1. square of AttiCat Fiberglass Expanding Blown-in Insulation http://www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Corning-AttiCat-Fiberglass-Expanding-Blown-in-Insulation-System-L38A/100541755 not the other stuff. Don't be alarmed by fiberglass. I will explain why later 1 or 2 50 lb bags of play sand, dust mask, Ziplock gallon slider plastic bags Have on hand, a small push broom or something else with a long handle and about 4" to 6" wide at the bottom, a bed sheet, any grocery store plastic bag. This is going to take a little while but well worth it. Put on your dust mask. unwrap the insulation from the vacuum seal plastic wrap only about 2" to 3" inches at a time, Don't worry about fiberglass. It seems to be mixed in with other material and did not irritate my skin. The opening to the heavy bag is only about 8" wide and is in the center of the top of the bag. Do not break apart the insulation prior to putting it in the bag. Grab as much insulation as will fit through the opening and start filling the heavy bag. after about 8" or about 5 minutes fill 2 Ziploc slider bags with about 5lbs of sand each and try to get them in the middle of the bag. Take a pillowcase and tie it around the end of the broom as to not pull out insulation in the next step. Stuff your bed sheet into the grocery store plastic bag and tie it off. Stuff the sheet filled bag into the heavy bag and shove down about 6" With your long handle broom, shove all the insulation down as far as it will go. Place the bottom, of the bag against a wall and pull on the bag straps as the handle is pressed against your midsection creating resistance. If uncomfortable, place something flat but sturdy between the handle top and your abs. Repeat the above process as many times as necessary until full. Hang the bag up and fill 2 or 3 more Ziploc slider bags completely with sand...about 10 lbs. or so each and put the sand weights in the very top of the stuffing and zip up your bag. What is great about this stuff is that it doesn't break down and settle at the bottom of the bag. It feels like stuffed animal stuffing. In a day or two the sand weights will push your stuffing down further, remove the sand weights and repeat filling process to desired fullness. Repeat the sand weight process until you reach your desired level of sturdiness. There you go. The process worked best for me. It's long and tedious but you only have to do the entire process once and there should be no hard spots as long as you got your 5lb Ziploc slider bag sand weights in the middle of the stuffing when filling the bag. Hope it helps When its all said and done, your bag should weigh about 120lbs. ... show more
