  • Great punching bag
This is a great punching bag. It’s big and sturdy. The only negative is it seems to not tighten enough. When you hit it the top part wiggles from the base.

  • Great free standing training bag
I would love to have a typical ceiling hung training bag, but that does not work in our basement. I purchased this device along with a BOB. There are advantages to a free standing device, mainly that you don't have to tear your ceiling down and risk damaging your home with repetitive pounding of a heavy bag. A bag stand is cumbersome and is too dangerous when working kicks. Don't want to accidentally kick the metal post. Free standing bags can also be easily moved when necessary. What I like: 1. Tall size. I'm over 6 ft tall. This bag is perfect. When using BOB, I have to have him up at the highest setting, then I can't work low kicks. 2. Soft padding. Much softer than a typical heavy bag, and is not rubbery like the BOB. After working with the BOB for a while, the skin on my knuckles are raw. The wavemaster is much more comfortable. My wife likes it much better than the BOB. 3. Seems pretty sturdy. Although I've only had mine for a few days, we have some in our Krav Maga class. They hold up well. 4. Plenty stable for us. When filled with water or sand, it's yet to tip completely over. It does tip a bit, then slam back down, making lots of noise unless you are in a basement. As a previous reviewer noted, the bag shipped with a round, somewhat retro looking logo - not the larger logo as seen in the picture here. If I was to redesign this thing, I'd make the base larger in diameter and shorter. Would lead to a bit more stability. For those deciding between this and the BOB, I'd say that the BOB makes a much better visual target, but the rubbery texture catches your glove. You'll feel much more fatigue in your knuckles, and your wrists. I'd recommend the wavemaster for frequent training. ... show more

  • very good!
im about 5' 7" 175 pounds. I bought a cheaper model and broke it in 10 days. I have had this bag for about 100 days and I am very impressed. I keep it outside and just put trash bags and the box it was shipped in over it when not in use. it does not rain much or get very cold here so it seems to be ok for now, though this may cause issues in the future as we get lots of heat and sunshine in the warm months. I filled the base with as much sand as I could (due to the design it was difficult for me to get it entirely full) but filled the remainder with water. it is stable and has not knocked down but has is able to move/swivel from the impact I give it (in a good, responsive way. similar to a bag hanging but with the pivot at the base instead of the chain). it is fairly easy to move with a "bear-hug" motion. I have been hitting the bag everyday from 20-60 mins (average of 30) with a variety of punch, kick, knee, elbow. it has recently starting to show minimal signs of damage (folds/creases in the material) and this will eventually become rips but is holding up as of now (this may be as much from being outside as much as from the strikes). im going to place tape on it as a preventive measure. im very pleased with the bag and feel as If I have already got my moneys worth, as compared to the cost of gym and time/gas associated with getting there. this is a great bag and would be a great addition to any gym. ... show more

  • Great heavy bag
So far so good as it's been a few months. It appears durable and going to last a long time. Both my son and I use it a couple times a week. It does slide a bit depending on the surface and whether or not you use water or sand- sand would be heavier. I'm using water and it sits on carpet so it does slide some. It's ok because I work around it anyway to keep from wearing out one area of the bag and that keeps it centered in the room. The cover has creased/indented in a couple areas that are typically at punch and kick level, but the foam has not softened or changed at all. I highly recommend this if you can't hang a heavy bag. It's probably the best standing bag out there. You can punch and kick hard without it tipping unless you are a giant of a person and super strong I guess. Even then I think you'd have to punch/kick push it over intentionally. I don't think it's built to last for a heavy weight's consistent power punches, but works for just about every other workout. We practice Krav Maga and it works great for all my workouts at 6 ft and 190 lbs. I gave it 4 stars overall only because I believe it's a bit overpriced. But, during these pandemic home workout times you have to pay to play. Also, after time it starts to unscrew from the base while punching and you have to stop and re-tighten. The instructions say it will lock in place, but it doesn't- at least not mine. ... show more
