    • Very comfortable chair, assembled difficult for one person
I bought the chair for upcoming knee surgery. The chair is comfortable, well paddled wide and firm, just as I wanted it. Very well made. Having said that I found that if you are assembling the chair yourself you will have problems. The first was this unit takes four 9 volt batteries, most lift chairs I have seen only take two. Secondly, the user manual that come with the chair is a bit light on details on assembly instructions and illustrations. Third, this chair does come in two pieces with the back of the chair not attached which is normal, but instead of sliding the rails on the back of the chair onto flanges on the chair seat there are instead four screws which must align with the flange. Two on each side. It takes two people to do this. Fourth, there are two 9 volt batteries in the transformer and then two on an inline cord which attaches to the transformer. These batteries are exposed with battery wires exposed. There were no instructions on where to attach these two batteries once batteries were installed , so I used the provided reusable zip tie to attach it it the metal frame of the chair being careful the wires would not get damaged by the left mechanism. Lastly, the footrest on this chair only comes up while the back is in process of reclining. We looked at other lift chairs in stores and all of them had the footrest come up before the back reclined. Not this one. Since I ordered this online, I was unaware of this. The only other gripe is the backrest rubs on the chair seat when inclining and reclining making an irritating noise. Hopefully this goes away. ... show more

The last Golden Chair was lager but I thought this second one would work because it fit my measurements.. This thing is so uncomfortable. The padding at the lower back goes to the bottom of my shoulder blades and bends me forward so my abdomen is pinched. My heels hang over as well and I am 5'5. I guess Ill have to live with it. It took every dime I had to buy this and I can't afford another. ... show more
