Nice upgrade from my old GTX 1060. Runs quietly, handles all my games in 1080p at Ultra settings. A little long in the tooth now, but still a viable option and maybe even overkill for 1080 gaming.

Much quieter than my 2080. Good looking card even with no rgb. Can start turning on all the eye candy in my games. Feels premium and is identical performance wise to other 3080’s, just wont be able to overclock much compared to those.

    • Update! New GPU, same issues
New MSI RTX 3080 GPU has same issues with the MSI RTX 2070 GPU I replaced. Poor quality image on screen and windows bigger than screen. This does not happen with the EVGA 750 I previously used, and used in the interim waiting for the new GPU to arrive. The EVGA has a far superior image quality but with only 4 GB memory the lag was why I bought the faster GPUs. Both the 3080, and 2070 have way too high contrast which I can't adjust down, and any window I open to full screen is larger than the monitor display so you can't see the outer edges of the window. I filed a ticket with SSI and their auto-response was to make sure my MB Bios was up to date (how the F do I do that?!!!), the power supply as at least 650 w (it's 1000w), and that the PCI-E slow was defective (it's not, works fine with the EVGA GPU). So before I return this card and get a faster EVGA board I'll need to see about updating the MB BIOS. UPDATE: The issue wasn't any of the items listed by MSI so no help from them. It was the fact I was using the VGA port on the monitors. I bought new DisplyPort to HDMI Cables and all is well. Everything works fine. I am keeping the three star rating because while waiting for cables to arrive I found an EVGA GPU with 12 gb ram for $1000 less. I am not going to return this MSI GPU because I don't want the hassle of going to the post office, and paying the "restocking fee" scam. Live and Learn I guess. ... show more
