I purchased a Portable Buddy about 10 years ago and it recently died. I liked it so well that I purchased another one. It lights easily and lasts a surprisingly long time on one bottle of fuel. It kicks out a good amount of heat and does not smell. It has two heat settings and it would be nice if there were more adjustments but two is sufficient. I use it in a 25' camper and it really takes the chill off but it isn't enough to heat the whole thing if the outside temp is around freezing. In my view it is effective, safe, and reasonably priced. Fee days later they sent a new one. That one is just as bad and no change. Tore it apart. I couldn't take the noise in the blind anymore. Waxed every thing in the middle post area and anywhere plastic was. I'd say it's 90 percent quiet after that. I got there blind it is great. I don't think I would recommend a chair that is not silent for hunting. Marketed as silent. After much thought and time into this chair. I'll say it is comfortable and easy to adjust. With that said it is not silent. I emailed customer service. They was great. Fee days later they sent a new one. That one is just as bad and no change. Tore it apart. I use it to heat a small 2 man blind. It does very well on low or slightly above is perfect. Would recommend for anyone.

Works great. Preferred the old model with a simple burner on top of a cylinder but could not find it. Probably outlawed it or something because it was too simple and no safety gadgets. Kinda hard to pack around hunting. You have to place it in your stand before hunting day.
