Description

Run, little mice, run! The Mouse Trap board game, a longtime family favorite, is the game of zany action on a crazy contraption. Many people played this family board game as kids, and they can introduce classic Mouse Trap gameplay to a new generation. Players move their mouse pawn around the gameboard collecting cheese wedges and building the entertaining and wild Mouse Trap game for kids contraption … but don't get trapped! The goal is to trap other players' mouse pawns. Be the last player with a mouse left to win! Kids and parents can enjoy lots of laughs while playing this fun board game together. It's one of the most exciting indoor games for kids' playdates and rainy days. Family board games like Mouse Trap make great kids' gifts for boys and girls. Add this kids board game to your next Family Game Night! Hasbro and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro. Build a better mousetrap? We dare you. Naturally, the object is to trap mice in the mousetrap, while avoiding getting trapped. By rolling the die, you proceed around the game board, collecting cheese pieces and building a mousetrap bit by bit. Once complete, you set the wheels in motion, as it were, to try to capture the opposition's mice. But this is no ordinary trap. With this contraption you start by turning the crank, that rotates the gears, that push the lever, that moves the shoe, that kicks the bucket, that sends the ball down the stairs and into the gutter, that leads to the rod that releases a second ball, that falls through the bathtub and onto the springboard, that catapults the diver into the washtub, that causes the cage to fall and--whew! --hopefully, capture a mouse. The last "mouse" left uncaptured wins --Alison Golder P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review For 2 to 4 players Includes game board, 4 plastic mice, 2 metal marbles, 25 mouse trap building parts and accessories, and 52 cheese pieces Instructions in English and Spanish Skills: counting, cooperation Supply is limited -- See more

Classic fun game. One of the pieces was a bit bent from the box, but we were able to adjust it to function properly. Would recommend for your board game collection.

  • Classic Fun with a Creative and Engaging Twist
Color: Multicolor
The Hasbro Gaming Mouse Trap is a classic board game designed for kids aged six and up. With colorful components, a unique Rube Goldberg-inspired gameplay mechanic, and engaging competition for 2-4 players, it offers hours of entertainment for the entire family. I tested this game with a group of children and adults to assess its entertainment value, ease of setup, and durability. Pros: ✅ Creative Gameplay: The game's focus on building and activating a chain reaction is both fun and educational, stimulating critical thinking and problem-solving skills. ✅ Appealing Design: Brightly colored pieces and a whimsical theme keep kids engaged throughout the game. ✅ Simple Rules: Easy-to-understand instructions make it accessible for younger players. ✅ Great for Group Play: Works well as a family activity, encouraging teamwork and friendly competition. Cons: ❌ Setup Time: Assembling the trap mechanism can be time-consuming, especially for first-time players. ❌ Durability of Components: Some plastic parts feel fragile and may require careful handling to avoid breakage. Performance and Usability: Mouse Trap excels in combining strategic gameplay with hands-on creativity. Players build the iconic trap piece by piece while navigating the board, which adds anticipation and excitement to the game. Once the trap is complete, watching it operate is a satisfying moment for players of all ages. However, setting up the contraption can be slightly tricky, especially for younger children, requiring patience or adult supervision. The overall experience is dynamic, with plenty of replay value thanks to its mix of chance and strategy. Comparison: Compared to other kids’ board games, Mouse Trap stands out with its interactive mechanical component, which sets it apart from traditional dice-and-card games like Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders. While games like Jenga or Operation also emphasize hands-on interaction, Mouse Trap uniquely integrates this into a competitive board game format. Who Is This For?: Mouse Trap is perfect for families with children aged six and older, particularly those who enjoy creative or construction-based activities. It’s an excellent choice for family game nights, birthday parties, or as a gift for kids who love interactive and imaginative games. Conclusion: Hasbro’s Mouse Trap remains a timeless classic, blending creativity, strategy, and fun. Despite minor drawbacks like setup time and component fragility, the game offers an engaging experience that children and adults alike can enjoy. Its ability to entertain while fostering problem-solving skills makes it a valuable addition to any family’s board game collection. ... show more

  • Extremely fun, even for younger kids
Color: Multicolor
My almost three year old received this game for Christmas. I know the manufacturer's age is 6, but she already builds with regular lego blocks so I gave this game a try. Of course, she can't play alone. She still can't read well, but she can operate dice, count and take turns so she could move her mouse around the board independently. With a little assistance, she was even able to add most parts to the traps. However, she did find it hard to remember picking up the cheese piece. We'll probably just skip this part of the game for a while. The trap fascinated her. I liked to see her try and operate the trap as we moved along the game. That's not part of the game, but she's still very young and I feel that bending some rules it's not too bad. When,at last, my mouse was in the right position to be trapped and she operated the crank she kept still with he her big eyes wide open...waiting to see whether my dumb mouse was doomed or not.... and it was. The trap worked and she, excited, jumped up and down. The only problem came when the game was over and we had to 'destroy' the trap. She absolutely refused helping me and looked at me with those angry eyes of hers. I don't think she understood that building the trap is part of the game. I know my child is probably a bit advanced for her age. However, I would recommend this game to children aged four or five to ten. Before, children will probably need a lot of assistance. Older children will find it boring, I think. After all the trap will always be the same. You can't build it in a different order. For older children, maybe, U-build Mouse Trap might work better. I read a few reviewers stating that children can't play this game alone. So what? As parents, we only have a few years when children actually want us to be around, let alone spending time playing together. This game is fun to play with your kids. I gave three stars for durability, because we've just had it for two days. Plastic parts seem tough. I don't know what to think about the cardboard cheese pieces. The four stars for educational value are due to the fact that building the trap is not very creative. However just operating it teaches a lot in physics. ... show more

I loved it as a child and now my 5 year old grandson is a fan! Might not be suitable for other kids at that age but he plays with legos for teens so I knew he would have no trouble with this
