    • Great Mount, TV can be pulled out. Can go over 3 Studs
This is very sturdy mount and it can go over 3 Studs, giving it a lot of strength. I have the TV pulled out since this is mounted in a wall with setback, TV is stable and does not move or vibrate, even with it being pulled away from the wall.

I had actually taken those pictures for a different review for the DATA-COMM in-wall cable kit I installed with the wall mount, but these pictures work equally well for the wall mount. Here's the issue with wall mounts. Under normal circumstances, the wall bracket portion of the mount is only wide enough to fit between one set of 16 inch on-center studs, and you *might* have the ability to slide it six inches left or right maybe, depending on how wide the wall bracket is. When you combine that with the width of the VESA mounting holes on the back of the TV, you may find that the combination of where you must mount the wall bracket along with the locations of the VESA mount may mean that your TV is off-center. Enter Mounting Dream. *FINALLY* a wall bracket is long enough to screw through *THREE* studs on a 16 inch on-center wall stud configuration (as is standard in most houses in the US), and is wide enough that you can safely hang the TV near one end of it and center your TV on the wall. And as an added bonus, the scissor mount design allows you to pull the TV about seven inches off the wall to either swivel it left or right, or get behind it to pull cables through the wall if you need to. For a big, heavy TV like mine, this is an absolute dream (no pun intended). It literally takes two people to pick this TV up off of its mounts, so not taking it off the wall to do work is essential. And as an added *added* bonus, this mount also allows you to tilt the TV anywhere from +2 degrees (i.e. leaning backwards) to -15 degrees (i.e. leaning forward) if you need to. I do not have my TV tilted, but it's great to know that I can. Installation is straightforward, and they even include a template you can stick on the wall to help you mark the holes for drilling. Drill pilot holes and use a hand socket to drive the lag bolts. Don't drive the lag bolts with a drill; you need the additional torque of a hand tool. Well, you can drive the lag bolts in most of the way with a drill, but torque it down with a hand tool. Then attach the arms to the back of the TV, and with two people, hang the arms on the top of the wall bracket first, and then click them in at the bottom. PRO TIP: if the catches on the bottom of the arm are not engaging, once the arm is fully seated, lift the TV slightly, and the catches will unlatch and snap closed. There are plenty of mounts that say they support up to VESA whatever size, but at the larger VESA placements, you are limited to where the TV can attach on the wall bracket, which means you are limited to mounting the TV between two studs, and that may not be the center of the wall. Ultimately, this means you're going to be disappointed with your install. Not here. Well done Mounting Dream, well done. ... show more

    • Great feature set
I'm glad I paid extra for this design over some of the simpler options. It has more tilt ability than needed and the ability to pull the TV away from the wall makes attaching cables so much easier. I had a stud in the middle of where I wanted the TV to be, so I needed to span three studs to keep the TV in that location. The level that comes with it is pretty cute but I'd hate to rely on it. That said, it did agree with the laser lever that I actually used to mark the hole positions. There is a paper layout included that has the hole positions, which was a help to me because my studs were spaced unevenly due to a closet on the back of the wall and I had to make sure the center of the studs would land within the slotted portion for all six lags. The lag screws are quite beefy. I'm not sure what would fail first if somebody tried to rip the TV down, but it won't be the lags. ... show more
