It is a functional piece of equipment that looks great on the counter. All it needs is a light tap right after making coffee to knock out the grounds. Don't wait for the grounds to dry out inside the portafilter before knocking out. Not too much of a mess, especially considering you're transporting thousands of coffee grains from a portafilter to a container. Very sturdy..and it's Italian made, and who doesn't love that? ... show more

Not sure why people say it’s too small. I have had this for a year and a half. Love it. I empty it once a week. The mouth is plenty big for my Breville Barista pods. Solid stainless construction. Not flimsy.

    • Pretty box - just narrow
It’s very nice looking, well polished, and solid. The capacity is very good for a couple days worth. Here are the negatives: 1) it’s a VERY narrow diameter (less than the Grandenstein) so you’ve gotta be careful when knocking or else you’ll hit the sharp sides, 2) the rubber pad on the bottom doesn’t extend to the edges! This is pretty cheesy because it causes instability/rocking! Because the tamp bar is so hard and the box so stiff, you don’t have to whack it very hard so the above negatives are tolerable. However, if you look at the price and don’t care about looks, then the Grandenstein is a better functioning box for half the price. ... show more

This product is made in Italy which is why it's a little pricey. The stainless steel is thick, not flimsy. I was worried that it may be too small since other brands are 8 to 10 inches in diameter. This is a little more than 4 inches in diameter. It fits perfect in my kitchen counter next to my Breville Barista Express. ... show more

Very high quality knock box. Goes well with stainless grinder and espresso machine. I like that the pieces can be disassembled from the box for cleaning. Should last forever. Worth the cost.
