The media could not be loaded. I have a diesel pick up truck that takes two H6 group 48 batteries. Over the last couple of weeks I noticed that the engine was cranking very slow. Finally got around to checking the batteries and a voltage reading checked OK. But when I connected this battery tester it showed that one of the batteries needed to be replaced. Further testing on the battery proved that was true. One battery was like new still, The other one would go below 11 V was just a very light load on it. Checked all the wiring in the truck and it’s OK, replaced the batteries and now the truck is happily cranking at high speed. This is a very handy little tester that will also record the voltage dip as you start the vehicle. Great little device, highly recommended. ... show more

Used this to test several batteries in boats, trailers and on non-vehicle devices. Seems to work well on basic test but a better instruction booklet would have been nice to do some of the tests it’s capable of in a non-automotive application. Overall a decent tester for the price.

    • Pretty easy to use and accurate
I used this for my truck and it told me how many CCA were left, life of battery, current voltage which confirm my battery was bad. Changed the battery and tried it out on the new battery which gave me a perfect reading. You can check your alternator with this as well. Works awesome!!!!

If you’re knowledgeable or a diagnostic technician, you’ll be looking further than a battery that is just good or bad. The diode ripple feature is important as well, there are several ways to diagnose and verify diode ripple. Specially, if you have a problem with an excessive current draw issue verifying an alternator is not a concern. this is the first unit I have found that has this feature as it’s used multiple times daily. This product display is bright and user-friendly.. i’ve verified the results from this battery tester with other diagnostic test equipment results and it’s fairly accurate. ... show more

    • Clear display and easy to use.
Instructions were easy to follow. I was able to toggle through the menu without issue. Very intuitive menu. Completed multiple tests in short order. BTW, my battery was bad but I was able to see the alternator was working. Perfect for home mechanics.

    • Usefulness FAR exceeds the price!
Having 5+ cars, a couple motorcycles, 2 electric scooters, and a literal pile of SLA/gel cell batteries I use in various other things I needed a battery tester that can test from little 7ah gel cells to 1000 CCA big batteries. And this one does exactly that. It will test from 100 CCA to 2000 CCA. You can also test for AH(amp hour) from 10AH to 250AH. This is super useful for the little gel cell batteries used in UPS, alarm systems, garage door openers, gate openers, automatic feeders, etc. As that's how these batteries are rated, not in CCA. All the other test like alternator and cranking voltage drop are just the icing on the cake. As far as accuracy, it seems to be spot on testing new batteries. It's VERY close to the new battery ratings. It's no laboratory grade tester, but it's absolutely "good enough" for home use. Even good enough to use in a professional setting like an automotive shop for a quick assessment. The alligator clips are very high quality, along with the cables. Some name brands could learn from this one in that department. Overall I'm very satisfied with this little battery tester. If you're on the fence and can't decide which battery tester to get...just get this one. You will not be disappointed. The only thing I can think of that would make it better is a little carrying case. That's about it. ... show more
