Not sure what the bad reviews are about. Honestly you’re paying 150 bucks for a scope not 1K not 2K 150. Some iron sights cost more than that what do you expect to get for that amount. Is it the best? No very far from it but I can tell you that this scope is decent the glass is clear and I can see a target very well from 100 yards away. It’s perfect for a low budget build and I can hit a quarter from 200 yards away on my second try. For $150 which in today’s day is a mediocre dinner in a restaurant you can’t go wrong. Honestly think about it that’s extremely cheap for a 6x scope. It’s nothing fancy but it gets the job done well done Monstrum. Very satisfied customer here. ... show more

April 2024: bought this Monstrum 1-6x24 LPVO on a whim... (flat dark earth). For an entry level scope with red & green reticle light-up, this thing is very nice. Feels sturdy (tad heavy) and the clicks sound crisp. Glass is very clear for entry level. Came with cantilever mount and flip-covers. Good value at this price point. Just registered my warranty online... Time for some group therapy now! ... show more

Scope functions as it should. I am rough on my gear and have bounced this around quite a bit, but it has kept its zero as promised. My biggest complaint is the cover on the lenses are a little too loud for my preference. I would prefer silicone caps. The reticle is dim in bright light, but can be seen (48 yo eyes). Has index marks on the magnification that, while not perfect, do allow some quick math to figure what your tick mark values are. Speaking of the reticle, you will find different tick mark values in different places at monstrum’s website. I emailed them regarding getting a correct number, and received no response. Best I can figure it’s 2 MOA per tick mark at max magnification. Good scope that’s one generation away from being great, I think. ... show more

Update 7/22/22 With about 500 rd through a ar with this optic ; this thing has held up. I thrown it, drop it and the rifle at a height of 30 Ft, dunked it in water and confirm it held zero. The finish is pretty jacked up now but that was expected and irrelevant. I paint all my gear anyway. Sold budget optic , is it go war? No! I am not in the teams, so that’s not that important to me. If was I would fallback to my vortex. If you are just getting into LPVOs this is a good start to see if you like without breaking the bank Old Review Brlow I just got mine drop off 2 hrs again, and have “fingers crossed” properly mounted it to my ar15 platform. I can say it appears well made, the glass is decently clear. The illuminated reticle is not bright enough for use outside in bright sunlight. That said it has a etched reticle to mitigate that short coming. The boxed reticle is pretty decent as well. I plan on putting about 500 rounds tomorrow to zero it and put it through its paces. 500 is not a lot to determine if this a optic to replace it but I will update this review when i hit 3500 to 5000 rds with it. Hopes are hit this will be a good choice for a budget / 100% reliable LPVO one can use for any purpose. ... show more

Took a little fiddling to get it setup but works great. Glass clear and turrets track well, eye box nice and forgiving except for max setting (as expected) but still fine there. For my eye I had to play with the diopter adjustment a good bit but once I got it it is great. I do not use illumination so I can't really comment. seems distorted on the high setting but that may be normal and adjustable. If you want an LPVO for under 200 bucks you will not go wrong with this one. ... show more

I received the first scope and the red illumination was barely visible at the highest setting. returned and received replacement in one day. received second scope and both green and red illumination were barely visible. I replaced battery but didn't help. these scopes are Chinese junk. returned second scope for refund. Now it states it will take 30 days for the returned scope to travel around the country before I receive my refund in October. I bought the Spectre model. Spend the extra money and get a scope that works. I would rate it zero stars if possible. ... show more

Overall, I'm not too happy I spent my money on this... the optics on 1x demonstrate some optical aberrations (things are not magnified the same as you look at the field of view). You can see it pretty clearly looking at a rectangular grid. In this case, I wanted 1x to look like a red-dot... it doesn't. The eye box gets really small at 6x but I'm not terribly disappointed about that, in fact, I kind of expected that for this price range. The optic is usable, and works well between 2x and 5x. It's on a range-only gun so not a super critical gun... a budget build made with spare parts mainly but a good shooter all the same. I thought I'd give this scope a try based on the reviews, but if you look at other offerings in this price range, you might find something better for a little more money. I expected the illumination to be marginal based on other reviews, and they're correct, unless you're in the dark, they don't show up. However, I didn't expect aberrations in the optics at low power. I guess you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who is picky (like me). I thought I'd give it a try and since I mounted it, I own it. Would I buy other products from this vendor? I've purchased numerous scope rings for budget builds from them, but from here on out, I'll steer clear of their optics. I haven't reached out to the vendor, I may do so. If the aberrations at 1x can be fixed, I may change my review. ... show more
