I actually ordered the wrong optics by mistake & when it arrived I thought might as well give it a try. For the money I think this is a great deal. I was able to zero it quickly and after firing 45 rounds through my AR-15 it was still accurate, stable and I see no problems with it at all. I have none of the problems listed by some other people. The build is good, and the clarity of the glass is awesome! The illumination does not match what is shown in review photos, so I imagine there are either a couple different illumination options you could possibly receive, or the photos are of a newer/older version. Work great, clear, and easy to mount and adjust. But the eye relief window is small at highest magnification. For the money they are great, just plan on fine tuning this thing for good eye relief.

I have been struggling with changing out the scope on my AR-15 from a Vortex Viper 4-12x40 to something with less magnification for varmint hunting; looking in the 1-6x or 2-7x range. Did not want to spend too much and I did not like the Vortex strike eagle reticle, prefer something less complex, plus honestly the strike eagle glass was less than impressive for the $389 price tag. I did a fair amount of research and decided on the Monstrum 1-6x24 LPVO. I was excited that it came with a cantilever mount and I have used Monstrum cantilever mounts before with great success so I decided on the scope. I arrived quickly which was nice. It was dark outside when I got is so I waited until morning to check it out. In first light on 1x I was quite happy, but dialing it up to 6x things went bad fast. First the distortion, second the white haze and then trying to get my eye focused on the eye box was a chore. Target acquisition is important in varmint hunting and this scope is horrible. you have to have your eye in almost the perfect position to get a nice view. I like the reticle and the green/ref illumination is fair, a little fuzzy. So i waited until sunny daylight and nothing really changed, no white haze common in low light conditions but the distortion and target acquisition was still horrible. In 1x things are pretty good but the distortion as you go up in power is hard to deal with. plus the magnification is backwards compared to any other scope I own, not a big deal but maybe. I was really disappointed with most things on the scope. workmanship was good, no cosmetic issues but I just could not deal with the distortion and the fact it was difficult to get a clear view through the scope without moving your head around, very small window to see. I boxed it up and sent it back. like i said it never got farther than out of the box. I would say this would be an ok scope for a kid on his .22 LR but not on my varmint rifle. will move on to a higher priced product. You get what you pay for. ... show more

I like this scope very much but I don't know if I received an updated model or what but the zoom handle is different, the flip up end caps are different and it doesn't have any "Monstrum" branding or logos on it whatsoever. It did come in a Monstrum box with extra tools, screws, stickers and manuals. I'm not disappointed, mine seems to be a quality optic, it is just much different than what is pictured. ... show more
