  • DESIGNED FOR TRUCKS AND VANS -- Engineered for hardworking full-size trucks and vans and features full-displaced valving on compression cycles to deliver controlled ride and handling

  • Very cost effective and sharp!
Liked the price/ functionality, but cut my finger on one of the many burrs protruding from frame.

  • No lower shock bolt. No instructions. Aggravating to install.
(1) - It might be my fault for not paying attention to the picture, but there is no bolt for the lower shock mount. I was disappointing to get a nice bright yellow shock absorber, nice shiny upper shock mount, washers, and nuts, and then have to use the old nasty rusty lower shock mounting bolt because there wasn't one in the package. The bolt couldn't cost but a dime maybe, and I would have gladly paid one dime more for a nice shiny new lower shock mounting bolt. (2) - No instructions. Yes shock absorbers are mostly self explanatory, but there could be confusion. I could not decide if one of the included washers went between the nut on the upper mounting stud and the frame or not. The spot on the frame where the stud goes is round and about the size of the nut, which made me think the nut should sit in that circular depression. The washer was so much bigger than the depression in the frame that it rests on the frame instead of the settling down into the depression. (3) - The mounting system uses flat washers and locking nuts instead of regular nuts and lock washers. The locknut that goes to the inside of the frame was almost impossible to install because it did not want to turn. A ratchet barely moved the locking part of the nut onto the stud. A longer flat wrench forced the nut about half way onto the stud. At that point I just couldn't move it anymore and the shock was still flopping loose. I had to use an 18 or 24 inch breaker bar to get the locknut to tighten enough to make the upper part of the shock stop moving. I finally stopped because I was afraid the threads were going to strip off of the stud. I was pulling so hard just to tighten the locknut there was no way to tell if it had finally bottomed out or not. (4) - What should have been a 30 minute job turned out to be over an hour. Maybe if you are a weightlifter or really strong the locknut might be easy to install. If you are an average person of average strength, there is no way you are going to tighten the locknut on the inside of the frame unless you own a long breaker bar and don't mind maneuvering it around the exhaust pipe and transmission about 30 times to finally get things tightened. The yellow paint on the shock looks nice and it feels like a strong shock absorber. After compressing it to prepare for installation, it shot back up towards full height right away, which I took to mean it works well. When the old shock was compressed after removal for comparison, it just laid there and never did re-extend itself even after 30 minutes. ... show more

  • So far so good
I just had them put on my 87 gmc 1500 and I can tell a difference in the way it rides, I like them so far and the price was reasonable

  • Misleading
Stated shocks instead of shock on title. Misleading thinking you were getting two shocks but only received one.
