  • Monopoly Fanatics
We are a family of Monopoly fanatics. My husband and I both grew up playing this all the time as it is both of our favorite game. So, of course we had to try the "Longest Game Ever." It was a lot of fun. Just as you think the game is about to be over, someone draws a twist from Community Chest and ends up bringing the game almost back to the beginning. I personally don't think it's actually any longer than a regular game of Monopoly. But I suppose that's all dependent on how many people you have playing. My only complaint would be that, since you are still in the game once you go bankrupt, there isn't much to do. You know the other person will win the game, but you have to keep rolling anyway. Seems silly. But the game was still a lot of fun! ... show more

  • Buy it for the board and HOUSERULE that bad boy!
Like many others, I was so excited to discover this Monopoly version with 3 of each property on the board (oh wow, 3 Boardwalks!!!) And was then IMMEDIATELY disappointed when the rules said that to buy one is to buy them all. What??? You killed it. SO... I ordered 3 sets of property deeds and wrotes 1s, 2s, or 3s on each set because I'm that level of obsessive. And we just played regular Monopoly (with some tweaks). AWESOME! Boardwalks for everyone! The new Chance cards are delightful, sometimes silly, and one of the best parts of the game. So don't be turned off by the dumb new rules, just get the board and houserule the heck out of it. In the end, it takes only slightly longer than regular Monopoly. :) Tweaks: I also bought extra houses and hotels. And if you break down the properties like I said, I recommend starting the game with twice the allotted money, or everybody runs out of cash quickly. And definitely do the Free Parking rule! ... show more

  • great gift for monopoly lovers
so, this is more about the rules of the game than the product. One of the rules of the game is that you can buy a property if you land on it if you give them 10$ over the rent. To be fair, this does make it longer. But we ended up changing it to a little more "damaging" (so like 200$) because 10$ is chump change when youre paying 1500$ on a space. So, definitely nothing wrong with the product, but beware if you play with people that stick to the instructions to a "T" this mechanic got annoying quickly. Again, I could see where it would make it longer, but it made it to where there was just 0 or negative progression. ... show more

  • This is singularly the most torturous game in existence.
If you think your children might have a few behavioural issues simmering under that veneer of sanity, then this will expose them. If you suspect that most people when provoked badly enough or forced into circumstances beyond their comfort zone, then this will expose more than a Michael Cohen book. The lying, cheating and often amazing amounts of boredom interspersed with moments of terror, will make you wish that this simulation called life will be finished shortly. Recommended for people who think their family is too perfect a family unit and much easier to expose people's true beings than a bear fight to the death. You will look at your family in a different way after this has been played.. 5 stars only because I made a conscious decision to buy this and don't like to admit my mistakes... ... show more

  • I'm just happy to have the board
I have always been a fan of Monopoly, and much more recently a fan of Monopoly Mega Edition. I love these games and all their long, tedious play style for whatever reason. Needless to say, I was excited to find an official board that has roughly 3x the properties of a regular board and bought it immediately. However, this board is really experienced best when you houserule everything about it, because all the new rules are not that good. Despite having three versions of all the properties, owning one will also give you the other two versions of that same property, to which I asked myself "What's the point?". Luckily for me though, I have two other Monopoly boards with full sets of properties that I can use to make every single property independent of each other. This version of the game also only includes 4 player tokens, which is pretty lame. But again, I can just tokens from other boards, bringing me up to 24 total tokens. The board itself is the star of the show though. It is huge with 66 total properties. What I especially like is that there are two GO spaces, two Jails, Go To Jails, and Free Parkings. To the average player this wont mean too much, but to those who know more of the strategy to these games, it is very exciting. Advancing to GO or getting stuck in Jail is no longer a reliable way of escaping high rent properties. Having each of the color districts split into three areas is great to have, especially when using the house rules I described. What I really want to stress is that as a game, it has a lot of flaws. But if you know what youre doing, this is a fantastic board to enforce your own house rules and personal play styles onto. ... show more

  • Monopo-holics - just get it already, you KNOW you want this!
This is a fun game, not necessarily the longest game ever if only two are playing, but still fun and gives me the only snowball's chance I have of staying in any Monopoly game with any longevity when my hubs is involved: he's def the Monopoly king in our house! We love to play this and glad we got it even though we have like at least five versions of Monopoly so far! ... show more

  • Most Effective Way To Punish Unruly Children
Is this a good game? No. Is it a great way to punish unruly children? Yes. If you play a standard Monopoly game with no house rules most games will end in about 90 minutes. This game is statistically impossible to finish. You can't go bankrupt. If you loose all your money and property and still owe money, you still stay in the game until you can make some money passing Go or from a Chance or Community Chest card. The only way to win is to own every property on the board. There's three times as many properties as in a standard Monopoly set. In the Chance cards is a card that makes everyone lose half their properties. So if you can't purchases all the properties on the board before that card comes up, you can't win. So the only way to end the game it ether for everyone to give up or decided who is going to win and make it happen. ... show more
