  • Easy to use. Strong chemical odor. Works great alone or as a curing gel base coat.
Color: A -Elegant Pink
I've been using a light curing liquid gel for a number of years. I do want to say this powder dip system is easier to use, and possibly quicker for application. As for longevity, it's too early to tell, however, the final result feels quite rigid. Regular liquid gel I can only get about 2 weeks as my nails are soft & flex easily, so regular gel separates from, or chips off of, the nail tip as it still allows for some flex. One drawback - I'm not slow at applying the topcoat, but apparently it starts setting up REALLY quickly and with my first use, I've gummed up 2 of the applicator brushes, which started as I was applying the top coat. The kit comes with 2 extras, as well as the one in the cleaner bottle, but at this rate, with my second use of the kit, I may very well run out of spares. Hopefully, the cleaner will help correct the gumming of the original brushes. Another drawback - both the base coat & the top coat are chemically strong smelling and create a strong burning sensation to the eyes. This is likely more my problem, as my progressives don't give me a good focal point for doing my nails, therefore I have to remove them and have my eyeballs about 10-12" away from my nails to be able to focus on the job. Plus, I have a dry eye issue to compound the problem, so they don't tear easily. Also, the activator is unpleasant smelling, but this disappears by the time the activated curing ends. Oh, the stamp doesn't come with the kit. It's a gel stamp from a kit, purchased a few months back, that I cured between 2 top coats. I wasn't sure if it would work, so was pleased to see success when using with this dip kit. Since dip is new to me, am not sure what other liquid gel options will cross over besides applicables like gems, stripe tape, etc., but it will be fun to experiment. Update - June 2024 - I've found that using dip under a liquid gel coat allows me to be a bit more creative while getting an extra week of wear out of the work. What's even better is if I'm running short on time to complete the task, I can do the whole dip process, wear it that way for a day or two, then come back with the light curing liquid gel process to top it off. And, I just use a different topcoat that doesn't cure as quickly, so no more ruined brushes. Tips: If you want try this process, I do no more than 2 dips (to prevent it becoming too thick for the final result) and complete the dip steps with the dip top 2 coats. I then use the buffing file at 1000 grit to lightly "scuff" the whole surface of the topcoat, use the gel nail cleaner solution to clean the dipped nail surface, then proceed to do the gel process starting with the base coat as if starting with a fresh nail. Then I design what I want. Holds up a good 3 weeks unless I do any projects that are particularly hard on nails in general. A bonus is, if I'm pressed for time, I can complete the dip process, go do stuff, come back a couple of hours or days later, and then get creative with a curing gel. I find this works better than a building gel to protect my nails. To remove, I file down into the dip layers, then use petroleum jelly to protect my fingerstips (skin application), in a bowl, I use a heated rice pack to "warm" the acetone gel remover, submerge my nails for 10-15 minutes, then clear off the gel. Resubmerge if necessary to remove residue. This has been the kindest process for both my fingers & the nail beds. ... show more

  • Super easy and flawless
Color: A -Elegant Pink
Just got this dip nail kit today and couldn’t wait to try it. I’ve tried dip at home a couple years ago which I bought from Sally’s and it was a lot of work. But, I wanted to try it again so I opted to buy from Amazon. First, the kit comes with a lot! So many colors to choose from. The instructions were easy to follow along and honestly, I’m surprised by how easy it was. Also REALLY surprised but highly satisfied with how NICE it came out. My nails look so nice. And, it was my first time. Not nearly as much work as the Sally’s purchase. I didn’t even really have to buff or file them because the dip came out perfect. I’m sure I’ll master it more as I go but I love it! Now I just have to see how long they last. ... show more

  • Good starter kit
Color: A -Elegant Pink
I got this kit because I am tired of spending $45 every two weeks and I'm one of those artsy craftsy people haha. I also bought a dremil kit, acetone warmer, and builder powder as well. This was a great starter product though. Easy to put on. I followed the instructions but also went from memory from what the salon does. I first put on the builder powder, I read that some people's were peeling. This is due to either too many oils and not cleaning well enough or not having a solid foundation to start on. Picked out my fav colors. I put on three layers on one hand and two on the other. We'll see which one ends up better :). Then I put the builder on top. I need more practice with the dremel as there are some uneven spots. But look at it!!!! Cons are The powder dishes are super small 😫 and I feel like they barely give you any liquid. But that's okay I'll use one of those trays and buy more. We'll see how long it stays on! ... show more

  • I LOVE This Kit!!
Color: Yellow
The orange is my first time. The blue my second. Def learned from my first try! I’ve been going to the salon for nails for over 20 years. The prices which continue to rise and the time out of my busy schedule, has been taken its toll. Not to mention I have a neurodivergent child, I don’t like to be away from long. I bought this kit in hopes of divorcing my nail tech, on good terms of course! First, the kit has EVERYTHING you need. I did read a lot of reviews before my first application and my nails came ok. Lasted over two weeks. I watched a video and decided the second time around I would put a piece of paper under my hand and catch the powder after pouring it over my nail instead of dipping. For some reason dipping was NOT for me. No matter what I couldn’t get a smooth dip, I think I’m heavy handed. I also purchased a pedicure brush to brush ALL the access powder off the nail. It makes for a more clean finish. I made sure to file my nails smooth really well using a very fine file. Like the file that comes on the four sided filing block, if that makes sense? I filed AFTER my thin 3 coats and activator. If you file before or use a course file it will mess up the mail rather than smooth it out. It’s also important to push back your cuticle before AND slowly get closer to the cuticle as you reach the last layer of powder. I used a course file to clean up around the nail and cuticle. To remove them I tried the cotton ball and acetone with foil. That did not work for me. Instead I bought those cotton make up pads, soaked my nails and 100% acetone for about 15 minutes. Then I soaked the makeup pad in the acetone and slowly rubbed it right off my nails until my nails were clean. I had to put my hands back in a few times. But it caused no damage to my nails. The only draw back is, I’ve found, the longer my nails are the easier they crack. So I cut them down and rounded them the second time around. When I did get a crack I was able to fix it. I filled the mail down to where it wasn’t shiny anymore, paying special attention to the crack. Applied more powder to that area, let it dry, brush, activate, file a little. Then apply another layer of powder over the entire nail, brush, activate, fine file to smooth it out, activate and top coat! Viola! I’m proud to say I’m now free from the hassle of salons. I’ve even purchased nail polishes for my toes to match from random places as I see them. Just make sure you block out enough time because it is time consuming. However, I’m happy to do it myself for the price, in the comfort of my own home, and with my son sitting next to me! ... show more
