As a first tip dip at home experience, I am pleased. However, in the directions, Step 2 says to apply a coat of "bond" - but the bottles in the kit are numbered 1 through 3 (base, activator, top coat), with bond not being a product in the kit. So I wasn't sure how to start. I ended up skipping that step and going straight to applying the "base", and it seemed okay. I would suggest updating the instructions to align with products inside the kit. I think for the price, it's a really great way to experiment at home! I will be buying more colors. There was plenty of dip powder, a good quality brush as well. Nicely labeled and numbered bottles make it clear which to use. As a first time user, I would be more careful next time to not pool too much liquid by my cuticles (user error!) I did 3 coats, and it was just the right thickness. However, after two coats, it seems a bit less likely to clump. So next time, I'll try 2 coats and see how it looks in comparison. I did have slight trouble with top coat not drying as easily on one nail. Not sure why. I was surprised to see that no UV lamp was required at the top coat stage. That was nice. All air dry and the layers seemed to dry relatively fast, as directions say. If you don't want to spend $100 for dip nails at the salon, I highly recommend you try this kit! I love the dip powder, it keeps my nails from breaking easily. Start with clean nail beds and trim or push back your cuticles. I buff and use an alcohol pad before I start. Start with the base and dip, I usually do this 3 times, then use the activator, use a nail board to smooth, buff and apply another coat of activator. Apply clear top coat twice and then let dry for about 10-15 minutes. *Use a toothpick to clean around cuticles between dips and definitely before activator. *To remove easily use a 100 grit nail board to take off shiny topcoat, take a ziplock bag and put a paper towel in the bottom and pour in your acetone deep enough to cover your finger tips. Use the paper towel to rub your nails on after soaking for about 10 minutes. ... show more

Very impressed so far with this set. As you can see by the photo I had 3 nails on each hand that needed to be fixed from a nail set I had done 4 weeks ago! So I left the grown out non chipped nails, peeled the chipped ones and tried this set! Wow! It takes a learning curve for sure but far easier and quicker than my at home gel set and it feels better knowing I’m not using that light and risking my health as frequently! These feel like they’ll last as well and I’m so excited to keep using this set to do my nails and get better as I practice more. I’ll come back and review after I see how long it lasts! Only complaint is having to pour the powder in the applicator dish and back out… you can waste a lot if not careful! ... show more

1st time doing my nails. Got SICK of paying for acrylic and gel-cost….ridiculous!!! I’m NOT crafty/good with using hands, but SO EASY!!!! Watched a You Tube video of general nail dipping, then thought at this price I’d take a shot. So impressed, have done daughters. I’ve had them done a week with 3 coats applied. With gardening/washing hair, PERFECT! LOTS of powder included. Ordering more bottles of polish as they’re small in starter set, but powders will last a long time! SOLD and will spread the word!! Let’s start with what it comes with. The colors you see when you open the package, are not the colors that go down on your nails so don’t freak out! I used the glitter red and green, when I did my first dip with the red glitter I kinda freaked out because I had very little red, some glitter, and a lot of clear! I then mixed the red with the red glitter which came out nice except for they did not stay longer then 5 hrs! Unacceptable. I left the green alone because I had no other green to watch it do the same thing but in the directions it says it can take up to 3 dips but no more to get desired color. Desired color, I just want the color it shows, I have never had to dip more than twice. I just reapplied them, this time dipped the glitter red 3 times and the green 3 times, we will see how long they last. For those that say nail prep. I buff my nail up, use a dehydrator and an acid free primer. Instructions said to use bond first which is not included. On to my next issue, step 1 the base this is more like super glue! I mean literally super glue! It smells like it, it sticks to your fingers like it, it’s horrible! I normally use another brand but I am out and will not get here for a few day so I thought I would give this a try, if this is your first time, don’t do it!!! You will never try dip again or maybe you will like glue stuck to your skin if you wipe it away from an area pooling or away from the skin. Oh and the nail brush, I have never had problems with them getting hard until this one. Blows my mind how much different this one seems to be over the others The white plastic finger dip cup, don’t waste your time. It is so flimsy that when you go to hold it, it tries to collapse in your hand and pop out of it. If you have your own use it or find the little dressing storage cups that you can reuse or toss. Pros The 3rd step top coat dries fast, in like 60 seconds. The red and green colors are not bad, just wish you didn’t have to dip 3 time to get the full color, it takes up more time. Other wise this was a nightmare and we will see if they stay for tomorrow. ... show more
