I recently used Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Oil for an oil change on my 2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0L, using the NEIKO 20762A Oil Drain Pan to make the process smooth and mess-free. The price per quart is the same as the Mobil 1, 12-quart box typically at Walmart. I have gotten the 12-quart box from Walmart and it has its pluses and minuses. The 5- quart jug is easier to handle and pour while the box needs to measured (not really hard to do if you have an old 5 quart jug) and less waste. The truck and suv is not available in the 12 quart box though. This is the first time using the truck and suv mix. The only difference between Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 truck and suv is an additive that is supposed to make the oil more durable for an engine that is working harder based on that Trucks and SUVs are more likely to be used in towing., hauling, getting the guts pulled out of it!! etc. Since the price is the same on Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 Truck and SUV why doesn’t Exxon/ Mobil use it in all of the Mobil 1 engine oils?? Mobil oil is a very good oil and I have used it for many years in my cars, and the Mobil Delvac 1300 Super for my diesel engines on the farm in all of my machinery with diesel engines. Hard to believe the price point when compared to other oil brands I have spent double on in the past. Decided to try based on other reviews and ratings. Unlike other reviewers, my oil showed up no leaks. Seems hard to imagine a new jog of this oil would be leaking as not only does the cap have a tamper resistant lock to it, on the inside once you remove the cap there is a seal you have to break to get the oil to come out as well. What that tells me is people have been receiving opened jugs of oil that leaked because the seal has been broken. As for the oil itself, have never had an issue with Mobil 1 ever- if anything it has always been rather pricy compared to other niche oils I have moved on to. But at this price point I decided to purchase. My only gripe was I had to purchase 2 jugs as I needed 6 quarts for my vehicle, and to get one additional quart from a price perspective made zero sense. So in this case I now have 4 quarts left over for the next oil change which is good- in essense I pre-paid part of the next oil change up front. In the end- yes it is synthetic oil, and a brand with a track record of being best in class, but the price point that appeared abnormally low did in fact deliver in the end, and I will purchase again. ... show more

Great oil, OEM is awesome to, but have used Mobil 1 on my truck since 1999 and change every 5K. Had valve covers off last week, the oil journals on the head and surrounding areas very clean for 100k. CAMs, nice and polished, no scuffs. Whatever oil you use, OEM or Mobil 1, stick with it for the life of the vehicle and DO NOT mix technologies ie other oil brands. ... show more
