    • One of the best Chromecast audio speakers--when on sale
Considering these are sold as a single speaker, these are pricey at full price. A single speaker can fill modest rooms or bigger ones with lower expectations. A pair will excel in both regards, but at twice the price. When these can be found for half off (ie $150) or less, they become much more compelling, so much so that I have three pairs (and a pair of Omni 10+). The audio quality is up to any streaming service, and the overall sound is robust. It's not going to do the best highs or the best lows, but for most music, these are fine. I use these as pairs and as a part of Chromecast speaker groups, and it's always a great experience. I like the wired option, as I tend to prefer that simplicity vs wireless, but both options exist. The app is OK, and when I ran into issue, their support was eager to help. Once these are set up, you can ignore their app and primarily use any "casting" app and Google Home to configure. I have a pair of Raumfeld Chromecast speakers that cost over $300, and a pair of these sounds every bit as good, though they come in a nice metal enclosure where HK gives you plastic. Highly recommended if you're invested in Google's home audio world and can get for less than $150 each. Not so much at full price or for Alexa. ... show more

Overall, I'm happy with this device. Pros: The sound is great, the fact that it supports both bluetooth and chromecast is exactly what I needed and it works well. The wifi range is just OK. It works on both the 2.4 and 5GHz ranges, but dealing with a floor and some walls between it and the router, it had to be within 10 feet directionally of the antenna. Cons: The app needed to configure the device is NOT on Google play store and you need to download the APK directly from Harmon's website. This is NOT in the instructions and required some additional work to find. Harman should be ashamed of this as it makes them look completely inept and probably causes significant amount of these devices to be returned. If Harman fixes this app problem, this would be a 5 star product. It should be considered unacceptable that a company produces an app that cant be included in the play store at this point. ... show more

    • Amazing bargain!
This is a remarkable speaker for it's size, it had a classic JBL sound. I bought a pair to hook up in stereo, and they really fill up the living room. Is does not, however connect wirelessly to Alexa, I hope they change that. Amazing bargain, nothing else touches it at it's current price! You must turn off your phone's wifi, I mean the 4G or whatever, or it will not link the speakers to your home wifi. ... show more

    • Sounds amazing, fiddly setup, undependable connection
I bought the HK Omni 20 Plus WiFi speaker 2 years ago so I could stream Spotify from my phone and have some music to listen to in my basement workspace. While this speaker sounds great, the setup was not smooth and quick. Once configured, it would work as intended for a day or two before disconnecting from my network. Not only would it disappear from the device list on my phones Spotify app, the HK Controller App could no longer find the speaker, when I attempted to reconnect. The only fix it seemed was to delete the App, download it again, and reset everything up. Each time, this process took around 15 frustrating minutes. Again, it would work great for a few days, then disappear from my network again. HK was no help. They would advise the problem was my network or modem. I can assure you this is not the case. I have several WiFi listening devices on my network, and all of them work great, always show as available, and immediately connect on demand. One is a Yamaha, the other a Denon. Both were easy and very quick to set up right out of the box, and both have an app that works great. Maybe you won’t experience the issues I did, but I cannot recommend the Omni 20 Plus. I ended up replacing it with the Denon Home 150 WiFi speaker which was quick to set up, easy to use, and is always available on my network. If you are looking for a WiFi powered speaker that is easy to set up and dependable, the Denon is it. Unfortunately, it’s not the HK Omni, at least in my experience. ... show more
