For the first time this year I decided to use drip irrigation. I knew it would take some time to set up but I wanted to be more efficient and stop wasting water with a hose. I found this extremely easy to set up. Although I wish I had some different pieces (which is on me, I had NO idea how I wanted to set this up at first, I just bought a kit) But I still had plenty to work with and set it up for this season. After my first water bill came in when the garden was a full go - I decided there wouldn't ever be a season that I didn't use drip irrigation again. Literally saved enough money from one month's bill to pay for this a couple times over. It was super simple attaching all the nozzles, t's, and splits. I used a small butane torch and quickly heated the tip of the hose before adding any attachments and I had zero issues getting them on. I have ran them the entirety of this summer and had no failures at any point, and by now there's a lot of portions completely buried by the elements. Good starter kit for a small garden, seems to hold pressure well. I did not have to put the 1/4" hoses in boiling water or whatever to get the connections on. Just some hose water for lube and wiggle it onto the barb. Getting the connections OFF the barb to adjust the system is the hard part. I do wish it came with more 1/2" hose. No telling what other hose types might be compatible. Be aware that if you have a lot of individual connections, you'll want to home-run as much as you can to the large 1/2" to 4x 1/4" barb junction fittings. You lose far too much pressure if you try to daisy chain the big sprinklers off of each other on just 1/4" line with t-taps. ... show more

    • It’s an OK set but much I didn’t use
I have a great neighbor that came over and helped me for two days with my drip system that I was unfamiliar with and did not use because there were breaches and broken lines. I bought this kit so that I had everything for her to use but she ended up using some of her connectors instead because they were easier to get on the tubing. These were very difficult to get on the tubing as in using all your strength and twisting, twisting, twisting twisting to try to get it back as far as you could. Hers were a little bit different structure and slanted at an angle and or much easier to get into the tubing. There are lots of things in the package that we didn’t use or need. I did use the new sprinklers , which seemed to work well and the tubing. The rest of it is in storage now. I think if I was more familiar, I would’ve preferred now that I have seen her stuff to go buy it individually as needed but as a starter set it was good and I learned a lot from my neighbors expertise. ... show more

    • Drip irrigation set is like working with tinker toys
This is a great drip irrigation set if you have a lot of plants to water. It comes with multiple adjustable heads that allow you to fine tune the type of discharge and flow at each plant. I found the best way to connect the heads to the 1/4 inch tubing was to place the tubing ends in hot water; otherwise, it's very difficult to push the tube all the way on. Also, wear gloves - my fingertips were raw from all the tube pushing. The one thing this package is sorely lacking is enough 1/2 inch tubing, so you'll likely need to pick up a 100 foot coil separately. The half inch tubing that comes with this set is also more difficult to work with as it is not stiff like the Rain bird product. Stuff tubing provides a much better seal when working with the fittings. However, overall this drip irrigation set has a lot of head options to work with, plenty of 1/4 inch tubing and plenty of connectors. It's a good design and if firmly connected, there should be little issue with tubing coming loose, so you may not need to buy a water pressure reducer. ... show more
