  • Better than expected, completely happy (at least for now!)
This mini (the size of a couple of decks of cards) was intended to replace my personal office "beast" - I run office apps, word, excel, etc., lots of internet windows for cloud based apps - at times there will be 30 plus memory hogging chrome windows open at a time. This has replaced my beloved but archaic Lenovo ThinkCentre i7. Less power consumption, almost no noise, tiny, and FAST - my Lenovo was too old for Windows 11. This came with 11 Home (bummer) which was easy enough to upgrade. It has been rock solid. There are rare instances I'll see it stutter/"freeze" for a few minutes, but so did my i7 - it MAY be when the multiple windows are crushing it, I'm above 89% memory utilization (thanks Chrome!) and possibly onedrive/backup stuff is going on. This has been used 24/7 (or at least on 24/7) for about 3 weeks - no need to hard reboot, and if it gets sluggish (like every other windows machine I've had) a quick reboot makes it happier. I'm running 2x 4k displays which it runs fine. Zoom/Teams video, podcasts, etc. - no problem, this little guy can handle it. Check scanner? Check! Regular scanner? Check! Voip phone interface, every desktop app i've had before, windows, onedrive, backups, antivirus, windows office apps, all running fine and reliably. I regret not trying fusion 360 on it when i was setting it up at home. I'm sure it would have run fine, and may try in my office and then delete - this is a work machine, no time for fiddling here! My next step is to probably design and 3d print an underdesk mount. It does come with a VESA mount, but I won't want the spaghetti of wires behind a monitor, and not as easy to reach. I am super satisfied with this little guy, and plan to swap out EVERY desktop in the office with on of these. I HOPE it lasts. You can't really upgrade, beyond RAM and storage (both ample for me). I THINK you can somehow upgrade the video. I wouldn't. At $400 if you get ONE year out of it, you probably did alright. I hope to get more than a year. I really don't have any cons to it. I would have loved an underdesk mount included, but that may not suit a lot of folks. I am also using a USB hub (like I did with my prior PC) which adds several more devices to the mix - all working splendidly. I WAS going to build a $1k machine - this was turnkey, and 40% of the price. I also bought a $1,000 Dell that didn't output 4k x 2 so that went to my assistant, and i was not a happy camper. This little guy? I'm a happy camper. Wish I could return that Dell! ... show more

  • Great PC
Size: UM790 Pro-64GB/1TB
Performance: Impressive performance for the price! i got the 64GB version on sale at around 670$ and i can definitely feel how powerful this computer is, i have even gamed a couple titles to impressively run in 4k at 30-40fps (Dota2). But i mainly work with this computer, having at least 15-20 tabs on browser at all times, with Youtube on the background, TeamViewer connection in progress (Sometimes 2) and many other programs running like adobe, WhatsApp, file transfer, and this computer has yet to even budge. Build: Really nice and premium feel on the case, great selection of ports 2 front USBC and 4 3.2 gen 2 on the back, 2 hdmi, Lan and even headphone jack. but mostly. COMPACT, i ha hidden this PC under my desk and its so small you can not notice where the PC Is Software: Had some hiccups tryng to get to the bios as it wasnt opening, but the support (Skype only) was able to help me through, so Thanks!! Im happy to have chosen this PC, i feel it was worth every penny. ... show more

  • Fantastic device, accompanied by no support and quick failure
Size: Ryzen 7 7840HS-1TB
UPDATE 08/06/2024 If I could take away the one star, I would. I've been using the computer regularly for 3 months, and now the USB-C port on the front has died. I had a small hub connected to it that gave me 3 USB-A ports, and SD card slot, a micro-SD slot (which I use a lot), and an HDMI port (how I overcome the faulty DP port (see below). The hub has a short cable so I must plug it into the front to reach it. This computer is quickly becoming unusable. I highly recommend avoiding this brand and go with something like Beelink that has much better support (and better hardware). ORIGINAL REVIEW I purchased this computer a few months ago to replace a small gaming computer I had for over 6 years that was having some trouble. I love the small form factor, and this model received many glowing reviews on YouTube and several other places. While I am not a heavy gamer, having the Oculink port on this mini PC is a nice assurance that if I do want to add a graphic card to it, I have that option. I immediately downgraded the OS to Windows 10 and had no trouble doing this as the drivers were available on Minisforum's website, then dual-booted it with Manjaro Linux as I slowly make the transition away from Windows. Still no trouble. The computer is responsive, quiet, and cool with the fans enclosed. Even if I push it and the fans spin up, they are not too loud. I also love that it's small enough to place directly on my desk so that I can easily access both the front and back of it. The LED feature is a nice touch, but I don't have the space on my desk to use it. Overall, it's a great computer that lets me play games, do some graphic work, and all of my day-to-day tasks without hesitation. However, I now have to caution any buyers of this product that you are on your own if you have any issues with this. I initially had it set up using a single display. Once I made space for it on my primary desk and wanted to connect it to my second monitor, the trouble started. Basically, the Display Port (DP) does not work. At all. This was 5 months after purchasing, so outside of the return window. I tried everything I could think to do, including updating drivers directly from AMD, trying 3 different cables (my monitors only have HDMI, so this did involve a converter), using the DP port without the HDMI, and double-checking all internal connections. I contacted Minisforum via their support email on their website. I received a very quick response, but it basically said, in very broken English, "many customers have this issue, so don't use the Display Port". Fortunately, I had a USB-C docking station with an HDMI port on it, so I plugged this in and have been able to use two displays as planned. I occasionally have an issue when the computer wakes from sleep where this docking station does not reconnect, so I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable, but it works as intended after that. I will update this review if I get any further with my contact with Minisforum, but as of now, I can only recommend this computer if you are comfortable with the lack of support. ... show more
